    Remember when the Final Four used to have a third-place game? I’ll never forget Iowa losing to Purdue in the 1980 third-place game, lol. Even the NFL used to have a third-place game (they called it the Playoff Bowl for some reason, I believe).

    It’d be pretty funny to go from “The PAC 12 is going to murder the Big XII by poaching Oklahoma and Texas” to, a few years later, “Texas Tech is leaving the Big XII for the PAC 12, joining Texas State, Utah State, Boise State, and Fresno State so their gambling QB can still play football.”

    That’s what I really remember about watching that Tech game on TV. Every time the camera showed the Red Raiders on the sideline, you could see how miserable they were and how much they wanted to just go home.
