What are some songs by lesser-known bands that get stuck in your head and take up permanent residence?

Like - I love me all things Tenacious D, but I *think* most people know of them? Something that isn’t getting much airtime.

Here is an example:

One of the great things about being in college in the early 2000s was how much the internet helped you hear weird bands, and websites like Pitchfork would help folks outside of their geographical area hear those bands.

So good! I am always partial to “Detlef Schrempf” because it makes me laugh!

This was hit at the time but such a flash in the pan that I think it gets forgotten and may fit this category. Every once in a while it will earworm me and then hit perfectly on a drive home on a summer's day.

I promise nobody's heard this one -a band long ago from Minneapolis that recorded in the same recording studio our band was recording in at the time- can't believe this was never a hit. They're finally on Spotify.

Did we ever! I think I also saw them at Dotfest back in the day as well. Our 90s is showing now though.
