I’ll make this quick and then go celebrate. How about...

ISU comes out and punches Baylor in the nose and leads after the 1st.

Baylor responds and ISU doesn’t score a SINGLE basket in the 2nd

The rest of the game is a back and forth battle. Reminded me of a heavyweight match.

The officials weren’t the best, but they weren’t afraid to make a call at the end of the game either. Missed a LOT of over the back or displacement calls on Baylor.

Baylor dominated the inside and ISU dominated the outside

in the end it was ISU with the ball, no shot clock and a tie game. Joens is fouled and hits one with .1 tics left. Misses second on purpose and Baylor’s streak in the conference is over.

highlight? Treys made by nearly everyone on the team. Biggest may have been one by Nez as the shot clock was expiring.

Great job ladies! ISU 57-56.

Great write-up! In a year of some real downers in Cyclone sports - what an AWESOME way to end the regular season of basketball. The Men's team should watch & emulate the Women's team's performance from today! I honestly did NOT think we had a shot without Scott & Rae being questionable for the game. In a game where every Cyclone's play was key - I think Rae battling through injury/pain would make me give her the "player of the game." But it truly was a TEAM EFFORT - loved every minute of it!! Thanks Ladies!!!!!!

When Iowa State hits 3s, we win. Men or women. One squad can do it fairly consistently, the other hardly at all.
Even though this is pretty categorically true, I don't understand why that needs to be. Hali , Bolton, and Nixon all drive the ball pretty well.

Haven't seen much of the women's team but that's great they beat Baylor.

Any time Baylor fails including their coach having a meltdown is success.

Today's game was the first one we were able to attend this season, so I'm greatly satisfied with the outcome. We sat 3 rows behind Mulkey and it was wonderful watching her melt down.

Considering we played 5 guards at times and thus had match up issues, I thought the girls played great. A couple of ticky tacky things here and there but overall they played tough

The ladies and their coaches have heart and grit!! Let's hope the men can discover these.

Come on folks, I come to this thread to get more insight on WBB and the game today and I see this crap. I get it the MBB year has been bad but don't ever, EVER, question their heart and grit. I've never been more proud of a team and coaches never giving up. CF has become a cesspool and color me done.

Because that's the nature of the game today. Teams HAVE to have good outside shooters. It makes driving the ball even more effective when teams have to guard your 3 point shooters.

I cannot understand how you can put together a team with the resources Baylor has and have multiple players that can't shoot outside 15 feet. It's remarkable.

Thought the defensive gameplan was great. It wasn't even so much just sagging off Richards, it was almost a three person zone down low. It really seemed to confuse Cox and she never seemed comfortable.

A great job not allowing the big run. Being at the game, there was a nervous apprehension among the crowd for alot of the game. You just sensed a run coming, especially as we struggled to score. But they hung in there and never let it get into double digits.

Man up on Cooper and Landrum by face guarding them cuz they CAN shoot it.. Triangle zone and squeeze Cox, Smith and Egbo on entry passes. Take your medicine with Richards knowing she won't shoot beyond 15 feet.
Limit Baylor possessions by slowing the game. Yet, pick your times when you can push the O and get shots in transition. ISU did that especially in the 3rd and 4th qtrs. Limit the TOs. Baylor had no one to handle Jade Thurmon.. She was terrific. Happy for her on senior nite. CBF had a terrific game plan. And, like CBF said afterwards "it isn't always pretty. But, when you play hard and never back down, sometimes the basketball gods smile at you".

Mulkey was magnanimous in the post game interview. Gave all credit to ISU. Love her. Hate her. Whatever turns your crank. She's a hell of a coach and has two NCs on her resume.

Looked at the box score last night. Saw Joens had a rough shooting night. Looked a bit deeper to discover she had her shot blocked 8 or 9 times. That's a crazy stat that would make a lesser player want to take their ball and go home. Instead she gets the game winner. Perseverance pays off.
