Friday OT #1 - Where Did You Sleep Last Night?

I usually sleep on my side, and will switch from side to side during the night. Weird thing is, when I'm on my right side, my hands are down around my waist. On my left side, my hands are up by my face. And when I'm on my left side, my dreams are much more vivid.

Belly, head to the right, I also subconsciously tuck my hand up by my shoulder.

A few years ago my brother was napping and I noticed he does the same thing. Funny.

I usually start in fetal and wake up in either the freefall or starfish. My arms almost always end up around my head for some reason. When in freefall though, whichever way my head is turned that knee is brought up to waist level.

side back side repeat. Can't do stomach often because if my neck faces to the side while my body faces down, I'll have a huge kink in it the next day and its painful.

When I want to spice things up I'll do a hybrid between side and back.

No but maybe I should. Apparently I talk a lot in my sleep. My room mate in college used to write down things that I'd say. Examples: "Got a rock? heh heh heh." "Pass some of those girls back this way." "Good morning, Monsignor."

My wife used to talk in her sleep pretty often. One time she patted my on the shoulder and said, "you're going to have to go let the dogs back in." I was upset, because I thought she go up to let the dogs out and came back to bed without letting them back in. Both dogs were still in the room though.

Another time she didn't say anything, just punched me in the face.

More importantly, is my wife the only one that when she rolls over will take a death grip on the covers and pull them with her as she rolls? I don’t know how many times I have to explain the concept of rolling over UNDERNEATH AND INDEPENDENTLY of the covers.....

My primary is fetal position, on my right side. That's where I'm most comfortable. I switch to left side but it isn't as comfortable, for some reason. Secondary position is on my back, often with my arms across my chest.

If at some point I go into a prone position, I know I have too much on my mind or battling insomnia.

Napping preference: Soldier Position.

To get to sleep, I will usually be on my belly with one arm under the pillow to support my head, and the other along my side. Supposedly when I am asleep, I will be on my back. If I am on my side, I usually like a pillow between my legs too.

That has to be a female thing. My gf was notorious for that. We now sleep with our own blankets. Also helps becuase she needs like 200 blankets at night, where 1 is usually more than enough for me.

Fetal to log. Some variation thereof. Both left and right sides.

I have issues with pain in my hips if I sleep with too much pressure on them. They don't bother me at all walking etc. My Dr. says its some kind of nerve bundle issue - similar to a coccyx issue - where if you can avoid re-aggravating it it will go away over time.

Usually in the morning prior to actually getting out of bed I will roll over on my back for a while. Then before I get up I do some stretching while still on my back.

I used to sleep on my back all the time, with my hands lying on my chest or stomach. But the last few years I've taken to sleeping on my side in the fetal position mostly, although every so often the arm that's underneath me will extend out fully above my head.

And I sleep on my right side far more often than my left.

I use a body pillow. Can't stand having my knees touching together.
