Jake Brend, Rob Gray, and Ben Hutchens discuss what Christian Wiggins’ injury means for Iowa State, the type of depth that T.J. Otzelberger has in the front court, and more hoops topics. Plus, Hutchens dives into his profile on Alli St. John, and the fellas spin the wheel. Presented by Kelderman Manufacturing.

Jaime Pollard once told me that he thought he was gonna get fired for scheduling the Drake game! And as I recall, we rolled out the red carpet for them during the week before the game and allowed them to use our resources for practices.

We were tailgating in D1, so I can confirm that the snow and slush was as bad as Jake said. Most of the people at our tailgate got inside our cargo van and I drove them right to the steps of Jack Trice. When they got out, it looked like the arrival of illegal immigrants.

What game we were supposed to win easily, but screwed things up, and it took a final drive to win? And, in true Cyclone fashion, we nearly screwed it up. We were pounding the ball, but the RB fumbled and it laid on the ground for what seemed forever. Purdy came from seemingly nowhere to recover. We scored on 4th down to win the game. I was at the game, but cannot remember when or who.

Sounds a little like 2019 against UNI. A triple overtime win.
From a Yahoo recap -
On third-and-1 from the UNI 2-yard line, ISU running back Sheldon Croney took a handoff and fumbled. A fumble recovery would have given Northern Iowa a victory, but Purdy came crashing in out of nowhere to pounce on the loose ball at the 1-yard line, giving his team a first down.

On the very next play, Croney pounded it in from a yard out to finally give his team a victory and the Iowa State fan base a sigh of relief.
