Hy-Vee's weirdest business decision yet?

What’s weird about it? I think you’re reading a little too much into the shark tank aspect. Sounds like a good opportunity for small businesses to me.

Right? It's almost as Hyvee is starting to try to re-find themselves. I even had an employee, a manager for that matter, not avoid eye contact and say hi to me for the first time in over 7 years when I was in a store this week.
It's almost like they passed the baton to a new CEO that is fundamentally different than his predecessor and is looking to drive revenues, customer foot traffic and community relations in an entirely different manner.

I thought about looking for this thread the other day. What's everyone's thoughts on the ad with the kid and the toy BBQ grill? Huge miss in my opinion, they don't seem to mind paying to air it though.

I'm still boycotting until we get the new monthly "Our House" ads back with different colored houses every month :D
I avoid Hy Vee just because I think their prices are high, at least when compared to other large chain stores. And that whole gas thing is such a joke. Get 20 cents off on gas. Save $3.00!

I'll nudge back on the Fuelsaver gas thing. We often have close to $2 off per gallon on our FS, sometimes more. I've filled our SUVs up for less than $10 before from that.

But is the price the same as close-by competition? I've often found it a few cents higher.

I’ve had a few times I’ve paid .01 per gallon. And by a few, I mean twice since it started however long ago.

I don’t mind the idea, I just think it suits purchasing a grill rather than groceries.
