WTF, Arrowhead has a huge amount of parking, probably more than any other stadium. Why would FIFA need to take up that much space?

Sounds like FIFA has repurposed arrowhead parking for other things and trying to gouge you in other ways. What a racket. The Gambino Crime Boss has nothing on FIFA.

They haven't. So many people across the region went through processes to have property converted to short term rentals in hopes of making a lot of money. Most of them are still unbooked.

Well Airbnb is a huge scam now so tourist already getting screwed by FIFA probably didn’t want to get screwed by terrible Airbnb service also. That fad lasted longer than I thought it would

Good on Rahm Emanuel for not agreeing to be grifted by FIFA! While I would have loved to go to Chicago for a WC Game, he made the right decision for the City.

I wasn't able to go in 1994, so I was super excited to go to at least one game this time around. I found a sweet spot deal for the game @ ATL on Thursday, but I wouldn't want to deal with booking another game for this tournament. Just too damned expensive in the big scheme of things.

Had a GREAT time and the WC is off of my Soccer Tournament Bucket list:

1988 Olympic Bronze Medal Game @ Seoul (West Germany vs. Italia)
2016 Copa America Centenario Group Play @ Philadelphia (USMNT vs. PAR)
2021 Gold Cup Group Play @ Kansas City, KS (USMNT vs. Canada)
2026 World Cup Group Play @ Atlanta (RSA vs. CZE)

So, I am done with FIFA WC Grift unless something just falls in my lap (which I do not expect). Going forward, I will stick to going to USMNT Gold Cup, WC Qualifying games and the Copa America (when it comes back to USA) along with convenient friendlies.

This is true. I was at a conference last month and the City's transportation director was talking about all the planning around transportation to and from various entertainment districts and the stadium. They setup park and rides all over the city and completely separated World Cup commuters from KC residents commuting to work.
