Big XII options for sanctioning Texas Tech

I was listening to a podcast yesterday from Yahoo Sports. They said that AG Paxton's letter backfired so bad that it helped the Big XII. The threatening letter allowed the conference to file with the federal court. Without Paxton's letter, the Big XII wouldn't be able to sanction Tech until Sorsby played in an actual game.

I put it at about 95% chance no NFL team will take a chance on Sorsby. That roughly means ALL 32 NFL teams statistically will not take mim atleast 3x. So, the odds are really 100% no NFL for Brendan.

Tech really helped Sorsby and themselves in all of this. LOL
Let’s be clear. Sorsby did this to himself. Yes, he may have an “addiction”, but he chose to place the bets then not get help until he was caught, then it was all an attempt to white wash the situation by Tech to try and make him eligible. We as a society need to enforce the idea that choices have consequences, both positive and negative consequences- we’ve gotten away from that. Tech screwed up and needs to be penalized for trying to put their own personal needs and desires before the greater good of the sport. If he had been allowed to play college ball again, I think most people would view that as the last straw and walk away from the sport.

Great summary here of how the Sorsby saga ended. It is a free read from the Athletic.

Of note is that TT paid Sorsby $1M so far and he won't get any more from them from his ~$4M deal. And the amount paid so far will not cover all of his legal fees.

B12 still needs to punish TTU for trying to hijack the conference and maybe consider expulsion! I would ve okay with ditching Taco Tech and adding UConvicts or UselessFlorida Bulls to replace them
It was refreshing to experience a harmonious conference after Texas and Oklahoma left, after adding the 4 schools, and before adding the 4 corners. Too bad Texas Tech turned into the school they and us despise, Texas.

Totally agee. Ultimately it was Brendan's decission to gamble on games, Brendan's decision to go to Tech, Brendan's decision to listen to Tech's advice after the NCAA ruling. He could have made a decison to opt out at that time; he didn't. The present consequenses are his to own. Tech didn't do him any favors though.

I think, now, Brendan Sorsby has lost any interest the NFL might have had in him. We'll see. Brendan will have to lie in this bed.

Someone will take a flyer on him.

"Sorsby needs to develop", "the raw talent is there"--couldn't that be true for the top 10 -20 qb;s in college ball? Has the pub given him more cred than he deserves?

Trying to understand Tech. Their fans said they had to play him or they would get sued. Huh?
That was just the half baked justification they came up with when they coordinated with Sorsby and a favorable judge to try to have a court bypass Big 12 rules. "Judge says we have to play him, nothing we can do about it." LOL
