Maybe Milan will be a great representative/ambassador for Iowa State in the future. We don’t know yet.

If this was true, Campbell would currently be meeting with a defense lawyer after Iowa State sued him for some type of NCA or non solicitation suit
With all the deeper runs and conference titles we will have in the next 10-20 years we probably won’t even bring any of his squads back.
It helps I grew up a pro sports fan first. I became a college fan in H.S. and then obviously in college at ISU.
But for my pro teams, I just have the mindset that a player could leave in free agency or be traded at any time. It sucks, but that’s just the reality so it doesn’t bother me as much. I just view ISU the same way now too.
I'm also not paying hundreds of dollars to go watch CPA Brian work or spends thousands going to watch CPA Brian attend a work conference either.
He could have been paid handsomely here but chose another path. I have zero sympathy. Good riddance.
That is true. 80% of jobs in America don’t have non-competes. And those that do are rarely enforced.
This is why it’s hard for me to get worked up over Milan. Both parties were put in a tough spot with the way the calendar is set up.
It sounds like MM and Otz have communicated the entire way. Otz did the right thing building a roster assuming we were moving on. It is what it is.
That’s not Brian’s problem (or Milan’s in this case). That’s your choice.
This may be true, but I would wager that a majority of the jobs that pay well into the seven figure range (as we are talking about here) DO have non-compete clauses which are regularly enforced.

I don’t believe this is true either. In many states they’re outright illegal and in the others are highly regulated.
Anecdotally, I’ve never heard any of my peers who has a non-compete getting pursued (I myself do not have one). Commentary online says the % that are enforced is “very low”.
And Campbell had a buyout anyway. You could try negotiating buyouts with players (as schools have been doing), because, as I said, college sports is a job.

Wasn’t there some talk that his camp was somewhat unhappy last year and he was considering leaving? Either way, Milan was a great player for us. He easily won’t crack my top 15 favorites of the modern era. And the fact that he left plays a big part of that.
Tyrese has shown with his actions that Iowa State is very important to him. He’s given a lot of money. He’s come back often for all sports. He seemed legit honored that he got the Olympic banner.
It’s very simple.
Fans root for their team. Players that play for other teams are inherently to be rooted against. Same for fans of professional teams
Although Haliburton didn’t exhaust his eligibility, he doesn’t play for another team. He plays in the NBA.
Big difference
Milan made the right decision. But I root against all other teams, particularly blue bloods
