Off-season 2026; Roster Needs/Portal

So the lineup since this April post with additions in Bold

125 - Smith, Rin, Vandermark, Dru
133 - Grice, Pearson, Rin
141 - E Frost, Diversant, Popadiuc
149 - J Frost, PJ, Fousek
157 - PJ, K Naak, Miller
165 - Euton, Riggins, Perez, Kelly
174 - MJ, J & O Helgeson, Perez
184 - Bartelt, Naak, Nando
197 - B Thompson, Floyd, Carter
285 - Merrill, Hagerty

Anybody I'm missing with these additions? How we feeling about that lineup? Besides Coby, will any freshmen push for starting spots? Are additions possible in our weaker spots?
Thunder Lewis from CA at 125

I could see a guy like Jake Miller pushing at 157. I thought he looked good at the US open.

Outside of that, a few question marks for sure.

125 - Does Ayden Smith make a jump or how does Rin look? Is Dru Ayala a factor?

133 - Can Grice continue to build on February/March and does Pearson run him down?

141 - Hope to see a rejuvenated Evan Frost.

149 - Is Paniro ok with manning 157 spot or does he toss his name in at 149 with Jacob?

157 - a big question mark weight for me. I think Paniro would do well here but what does Kane Naak look like and I mentioned Jake Miller before.

165 - need improvement here. I feel like between Euton/Riggins there is a 15-20th ranked floor but can one of them make a push for AA?

174 - Can MJ maintain the consistency that he showed last season and push for AA again?

184 - my biggest question mark. Thompson has been said to be 197 but he was a 174 a few years ago for Ok St, can he go 184? Can Bartelt get healthy?

197 - Thompson, or if he goes 184 is Carson Floyd a factor for 197?

285 - Odd to say but this might be my most confident weight which is insane with a true freshman there.

Plenty of question marks. Excited to see the development of the guys.

I think the Osmany ship has sailed.

I like Merrill, the question for him is mat wrestling. A lot of his freestyle was from bulldogging guys out of the ring. Not going to be gaining the push out points as much.

also Tom crook VT's starting 141 for the past 3 years just committed to Indiana. good pick up for them love seeing the bottom tier big 10 schools get good guys who can compete.

His folkstyle top game is actually pretty good. I can't remember what tournament or event it was, but I watched him ride Michael Mocco like a dog in a folkstyle match.

I’m not worried about him being ready. He’s been wrestling a healthy Bastida and will continue to do so all summer long. If he can get to a point where he can close the gap on Bastida then he will know he’s a ncaa contender. Hopefully it’s not too one sided.
