*** 2025-26 ISU WBB Season Thread ***

The guards this year are better for one reason. Quickness. That’s a generalization, but the change to having JW to go along with AJ is a big improvement. Paulk is also fun to watch on D and just needs to become consistent on offense to cement a spot in the starting lineup. Doesn’t make the team a West Virginia, but they are “better.”

Oh I agree completely… they were “sloooowww” last year & I’m not trying to pick on a great cyclone, but Emily Ryan, was a poor defender. She was a pleasant soul and a hard worker and she could get hot at times and she did a decent job distributing the ball, but I never really understood the love affair.

The guards are much quicker this year, but short & still not aggressive enough in my opinion

One thing our guards lack is length. AJ is a good defender for her height, but I think we really struggle challenge passes and at the 3 pt line.

Unfortunately our women’s bball post-season ends much like their regular season….. with a whimper. Disappointing year again for sure. They better not start in the top 10 next year just because we have Audi.
