Donovan Davis announced on May 6th that he committed to the Cyclones!!!

F the crap stained suckeyes and their HC Bennie McDouche … not a recruiter , he’s just following TJ around and offering same players ! He’s a douche idiot ! Just like the fanbase !
I respect your disdain for our in state rival, but the level of intelligence displayed in some of your posts more closely resembles something more easily found on a Hok free forum--not the general population that contributes to this board.
I do not know Ben McCollum but he has been successful most of his career. I don't care for his style of play, but his players seem disciplined to his style, regardless of their talent level, and we don't know how that will change as he adapts to having greater recourses than he's had available in the past.
As far as Davis, are we sure TJ was the first to offer (or any of the past TJ recruits)? Ben arrived late on this one and didn't have as much to sell.
Since we seemed to be locked into playing them, I would rather beat them when they are somewhat respectable rather than when the outcome is a given--same for any opponent.

Their level of coping with this one on X is top notch:
-We have better players at that spot already (Koch, Sage, Thompson- who hasn’t even played yet but somehow they know he’s better)
-Iowa State was on him two years ago- BM just offered in the last few months so he did a good job to get into his final 5 (where have seen that rationale from Hawk fans before?)
-BM is now 1-1 in head to head recruiting vs. TJ (I assume they mean Coon although ISU spent about 5 minutes recruiting him)
I mean, they had to see the DD to ISU thing coming so they had time to get their best material ready.

Lol very well known FACT Iowa State stopped recruiting Coon. Wiggins, Harrington, Davis and Ann are all higher rated prospects at that 2/3/4 role.

Hawks can have TJs leftovers though!

Fun to win recruiting battles and smack talk

But in reality the cope is probably valid. Coon will likely do well for them. I mean, how many guys on their team this year did we want?

Missing out on guys isn’t a big deal

BS !! They are F’ing suckeyes and they all act like it…. Coaches , players and fans alike !

Also notable that McC originally lost the Coon recruitment to McDerrmott.

Your correct ISU didn't recruit Coon when he was released from his LOI to Creighton. Anyone calling that a win for McCollum vs TJ must live in Iowa City and not follow the portal.

I'm just blown away by the maturity of players like Donovan. When I think of myself at that age, it scares me to imagine what I'd be like in that kind of spotlight. Couldn't hold a candle to that young man.

I can tell Donovan is going to represent Iowa State incredibly well off the basketball court as well as on it. No wonder TJ is excited.
If you want to be blown away by the opposite side of the maturity spectrum, look at anything Kansas-bound 2026 #1 Tyran Stokes puts on social media. His commitment "ceremony" was bad.

The level of cope from WI fans lmao

Whatever a "Nolan Winter" is wasn't even the best big ON HIS OWN TEAM. And selectively bringing up Hunter, who only played one season under Otz, is pretty hilarious

That is a complete 180 to the Davis commitment! Davis came off as very humble. This guy was all about having the spotlight on him

I do not like Ben McCollum because he's not as unlikable and is far more mentally stable than the previous 3 Iowa basketball coaches.
