Is there a movie star that you really don't care for?

I thought Wonder Woman was pretty good, but Gal Gadot's acting is kind of hard to watch sometimes.

On a related note, I don't really hate this actress, but for some reason I have this weird face blindness when it comes to Sienna Miller. Like if I see her in a movie, someone could show me a picture of her the very next day and ask me who it is and I would have no idea. There have been so many times where I see a picture of her and have no clue it's her until I read the description.
Her acting maybe but watching Gal certainly is not ;)

Might have been mentioned but Mark Wahlberg can't act either. It still blows my mind he has an Oscar nom for The Departed...yes that's probably his best acting due to Scorcese and the script, but he didn't deserve that.

I also think Charleton Heston is the biggest over-actor in history. I can't stand watching him in any movie.

He's another one of those actors who pretty much just plays himself no matter the movie or role. It's like 90% Mark Wahlberg, 10% the actual character from the script. They all carry themselves the same, talk the same, same facial expressions, etc. Maybe a different wardrobe and hairstyle, but that's about it.

Agree...it makes me laugh...but it is not in the rarified air of top 5 comedies! It doesn't even approach the levels of Animal House, Superbad, Naked Gun, Caddyshack, Sixteen Candles or Fast Times (does that count as a comedy?)! I don't mind a movie that just makes me laugh...I could watch She's Out of My League 10 days in a row and laugh every time! Step Brothers has some very funny moments...but it is really just a series of gag scenes...
I never thought of it like that but you are correct.

Having said that Ferrell has some great movies and some terrible movies and some ok. Step Brothers and the Other Guys are great movies. He was ok in Old School. Anchorman is pretty good. Outside of those...

It's the studios. zero balls. It's 100% about money and they want sure things. Slap a big, familiar, popular movie name out there as a reboot and they know it'll bring interest. Sucks.

People don’t go to anything else. Im pretty encouraged by something like The Drama and Project Hail Mary but studios can’t just release movies that nobody wants to watch either.

Is there a bonafide movie star or A-lister that is or has been incredibly popular making many movies that made bank at the box office that you just don't like at all? This is mainly for leading roles.

Independence Day is on right now and man is it not good after a few decades. I honestly can't think of a blockbuster movie that I love that Will Smith is in. He CAN be good in dramatic roles but for the most part I think he's a pretty horrible actor.
Even though it didn't follow the short story very closely, I did like "I AM LEGEND", but I am a scker for those post apocoliptic/dystopian movies.

I’m going to tick off a bunch of people, but I don’t care…. Tom Hanks. There, I said it…. now let me have it!

Also…. Seth Rogen…. yuck.
While I don't agree with Tom Hanks, I do actually get why you'd say it. While he definitely has a wider range than a lot of actors, he by an large, is the same type of guy in movies. Wholesome, middle aged dad, everyone loves him type guy.

Strangely, I think some of his more 'silly' movies like Money Pit are some of his best roles. He had quite a run in the 90s and 00s with Forrest Gump and Philadelphia and Green Mile (his most underrated acting IMO), Apollo 13, Toy Story, Saving Private Ryan, Cast Away, Road to Perdition (his best bad guy role), etc. But he hasn't had a huge hit or a great movie in over a decade now.

He was a wacky comedy guy, then did some seriously good serious stuff, and now he is kind of everybody's dad, like you say. Tom Hanks Inc.

Money Pit is a good one, I liked Dragnet with Dan Akroyd too - forgotten underrated movie imho.
