Brent Metcalf Head Coach?

If mineo is to be believed it would have to be Spencer Lee because I don’t think you can call a two time finalist a Hawkeye great there or here. Not sure how works with his current career tho so probably trolling and it’s Ayala.
I would argue a 2-time finalist is a great at any school. Making the NCAA finals is not easy and multi-time finalists at any school would be considered greats.

Gilman is the more seasoned candidate for sure. But also, would demand much more in terms of salary and authority. Our second assistant is an entry level position.
So St. John's has been holding down an entry level position for the last 10 season?

Another point here, I would argue that Yonger is a Cyclone great as a 2 time AA and 1 time finalist.

I am no expert, but it is a Drake GIF, and Ayala's first name is Drake.

With Younger I think we need to include the totality of what he did for the program combined with his accomplishments at NCAA's. But that's just me . He will always be a Cyclone great in my book.
Well then, what about Dave Osenbaugh, the middle quality ISU heavyweight that pinned Lou Banach to win a dual in 1981? I remember him much more than many NCAA champions. Is he a great? Certainly that was a great moment ... maybe one of the greatest.

For everyone's enjoyment:
