TJ signs 10 year extension

Hmmm, agreeing with the poster and recognizing that no one is perfect triggered this response? Ok, hope you have a nice day.
Hmmm, when you've been a member for 12 years and have a total of 16 messages, yeah...it's strange. You also have a nice day.

Any ISU fan who is being realistic understands we've been a basketball school for a long time. We need to have a healthy football program, and we have a great atmosphere, and had a hell of a run in the Campbell era.

Men's basketball is the program that has the highest national profile, highest level of success this century, is most consistently well attended, and the lowest tolerance for bad performances.

Hell, Jamie himself said it early in his tenure, that basketball needed to be the marquee program here, when Morgan was fired.

That got a lot quieter when the next few years after that were absolutely disastrous under McDermott and then realignment focused on football.

I disagree completely. No buyout amount is going to prevent a coach like TJ from leaving if he really wanted to. It'd make fans "feel"better, but the buyout value doesn't matter one iota.
I'll agree on your point. So the "10 years" is meaningless too if the buyout details are irrelevant and TJ is gonna leave if he wants to leave?

10 years from now he will be coaching up AI robots making 15 million dollars a year.

When your basketball coach makes double what your football coach does, it tells you exactly what it means for football...

I don't know that it says anything in particular.

Jamie has typically operated on a 'buy low and pay more when they achieve success' philosophy of hiring and pay. We haven't really gone out and made big splash hires, other than Chizik.

We happen to have just hired the football coach so it'd be expected to be low, and TJ has achieved a ton of success, so he'd be at the point where pollard would pay high.
