Opening Acts Who Made It Big

I think it was 2001.... Papa Roach with Hed(PE) concert at Toad Holler..or was it super toad...doesnt matter. Linkin Park was the opener. Spent about 30 min talking with Mike and Chester selling their own merch after their set. Hybrid Theory came out shortly after.
I was there. Hed PE had a guy use an electric grinder for visual effects.

The Killers at Val Air in 2005 was a… killer show!

A Perfect Circle at CY Stephens in 2002 was spiritual. The sound in there was so incredible.

The Eagles opened for Linda Ronstandt, one time. She said screw that $hIt get me someone different these guys are too good.

Old Dominion opening for Kenny Chesney in Minneapolis was really the only one, and even then they were already pretty big.

A lot of big bands opened at one point for someone.
RUSH opened for KISS
AC/DC opened for Triumph
Saw Iron Maiden as an opener
Saw Alice in Chains in a bar
Jon cougar opened for Molly Hatchet
Saw Adele in a bar before she hit big.
I could go on and on
I have seen them both but not together!

I first saw Mellencamp @ Orlando on the American Fool Tour in 1982, @ Farm Aid in Ames in 1993 and @ Cincinnati in 2015.

I saw Molly Hatchett @ Lakeland, Fla. back in 1981 IIRC. Man, my ears are still hurtin' from that one!

I mean I get it but I also LOVE Dave's We Just Disagree
Oh, Me too! It was power packed, for sure! it was a great concert. First time I ever smelled weed too back when everybody could smoke at concerts. I went with my college aged older sister. She just laughed when somebody passed a doobie down the line, and I said: "What's that smell?"

Van Halen opened for Black Sabbath in mid 70s

Went to a concert in Chicago and saw Noah Kahan open for George Ezra. Went from playing for 2k people to selling out Fenway 3 times in one weekend.

Not true at all, Glen Fy and Don Henley, met while in the back up band for Ronstandt, and when they decided to break off, Ronstandt wished them well and even recorded one of the song they wrote a few years later. Even today they all speak kindly of one another, and she never had problems with them going their own way.
