For Milan and the NBA, think about Niang. Niang was a a versatile 4 in college, but his role in the nba was bench scoring from the wing position, mainly shooting threes. Milan is a better shooter than Georges at the same height and is more athletic. He can absolutely make a career out of being a sharpshooter from 3 even if he doesn’t add anything else to his game. That being said, I’m glad the draft is pretty loaded this year so hopefully he comes back.

Niang also wasn’t known for his defense but he was able to make himself a good enough defender for his role. Milan can do the same thing.

Yeah. When he switched onto some of those top guys in the Big 12 from time to time, he didn't look half bad. Guys got shots off and made them but he did a decent job.

Likely will be a bench guy in the NBA, so small 6 minute bursts. Won't be asked to guard the top guys either. Also won't be the focus for opposing defenses, so he will have a lot more space.

I think AJ Green was also a guy not expected to be much of a defensive player in the NBA, but he is now considered a very good defensive player and making a LOT of money.

My guess is the NBA feedback will be to gain strength and agility if possible.

It’s a double edged sword because the NBA guys will likely tell Milan he needs to play more 4 next year.

Yes it was. He was also more physical in getting position for rebounds. If he gains some more strength/weight, I would love for him to post up a bit more for that one-legged fade. Of course, the most important thing is that he comes back to ISU.

Agreed - but my point is that Georges’s role in the nba didn’t require as much passing or ball handling as in college. According to basketball reference, across his 9 year career, Niang average 1.9 2pt attempts per game and 4.1 3PT attempts per game.

If Niang can have a 9 year nba career (and maybe more, I know he had injuries this year), then Milan can definitely find a role in the nba too.

Nobody should’ve surprised that major schools are throwing a huge bag at Milan tbh. With that said I’d rather see him go to the NBA (in general I hope he has a great NBA career) versus transfer to another school though if he was to come back.

Niang was quicker and a much better ball handler though. Not sure if Milan is more athletic.

I don’t disagree, but Milan is a bit different than many of these kids. He’s got an nba career coming. Dollars today still matter, but he doesn’t “have to have” life changing money today. And he’s getting paid well at ISu; he’s not poor. Mostly, his game needs work to determine his draft status and nba $. If I’m Milan, and I’m not, I ride with TJ to get me that rather than a slightly bigger bag in a new system.

Goes to another school- he's dead to me and no longer a cyclone.
Plays professionally (college is professional now but whatever)- Cyclone for life and I totally understand.
