Really appreciate CW for putting in the effort to give us analysis after games.
As I listened to him and Jake Brend, I thought of a few additional things that I would comment on.
1. It is easy to focus on Milan's missed shots, but I think it started a little earlier on each shot. He seemed to be struggling with his footwork and getting the positions he wanted for shooting.
2. How did the refs not make the call when he got clobbered on a 3 shot? I need to go back and see what ref was in position and missed that call. Plays like that can be momentum changers.
3. How was Courtney Green as a ref? I wasn't able to pay close attention during the game. Did he make the phantom call on Tamin in the first half when Tamin had his back to the action? I thought Brooks Wells called a pretty good game. And the third guy stepped up and made a few tough calls that went our way.
4. It may have looked like Buchanan got beat more than he did. Most of the time, he was trying to rebound against multiple Tennessee plays, as we played aggressive defense on the perimeter.
5. Our aggressive defense on the perimeter led to lots of easy shots underneath for them. I was particularly impressed with the interior passing by their bigs, especially the alley oops.
6. I can recall at least 3 blocks by defenders coming to help. And another at least 2 where we thought we had layups, but they came "out of nowhere" for the blocks. They used size, quickness, and judgment to prevent at least 10 "easy" points.
