CF POSTGAME: No. 4 Iowa State can’t dig out of hole, falls to No. 16 Texas Tech

TJ has done a fantastic job but tonight is another example of how our team can fall apart when playing athletic, aggressive teams. For whatever reason we don't seem to be able to adjust to teams that handle our traps, at one point in today's game TT was 8 for 8 from 2 pt field goals and well over 50% from 3pt. They shot well but we didn't rebound and gave up so many easy looks near the basket.

Meanwhile on offense we are really missing scoring from the guards. Toure had a bad game shooting but what's worse is that he looks uncertain and unconfident. Milan is a great shooter, but is so one dimensional that our team can totally bog down on offense when is isn't getting open or making hail mary 3s. Jefferson played great today, but still has trouble with teams digging down on his post moves. Don't think this team can get past the S16, hope I am wrong.

Yet, with all that Tech did right and we did wrong, it felt like we were going to pull out the win!

Teams are allowing Toure to take 3 pt shots & he has proven that strategy works. Basketball revolves around 3 pt shooters stretching the floor and our guards are not consistent which limits the inside game. Milan is very good but is not quick enough to get freed up against good defenses. If Bateman, Toure and Lipsey are off we struggle with our half court offense. Our team free throw shooting reflects our 3 pt shooting problems.
