This one was close as any sane person would have guessed. But there were some things in this game no one could have scripted.

I was feeling deja vu in the 4th qtr. So glad we pulled it out.

I have to wonder if the free throw problem is because they really aren’t used to the noise and crowd size? It was very similar last year at this game.

I'm a big Kenzie Hare fan. Love that she got the block near the end. And I think she made another play to get a loose ball even later in the game (sorry, but I don't recall exactly what she did). Great job Kenzie to make hustle plays to seal the win.

What a great win for this seasons trajectory and outside perception. Gutted it out against a good team. We can all complain about timeouts, end of quarters, or free throws. But I loved the grittiness and perseverance they showed. That will serve the team well going forward!

We saw more Alisa out with Crooks than we've seen all season. I wonder what the thought was?

I think Bill said on the post-game gave a way to move Addy to the 3 for some different offensive sets, then after Iowa adjusted switch back. If I heard correctly.
It's nice to be able to have 2 bigs on the court at once.

The shrinking of the bench is a little alarming - no Harris the second half, I know Beatty was out but we need more minutes here and there from others. Dont think Wilson played. We have more depth but we didnt use them much which may have contributed to some of the late misses both at the line and from the floor, they were exhausted!

I think they were tired in the fourth quarter and that may have played a part. It was an intense game and our starters played a lot of minutes.
I know BF wanted to keep time outs for ball advancement at end but really felt we could have used one earlier for Addy and Audi on free throws.

I agree, but Iowa didn't pull from their bench much either. 8/10 starters played 30+ minutes with 7/10 playing 35+. 8 bench points for Iowa and 7 for us. So it appeared everyone was giving their all this game.

Paulk needs to be able to shoot. Her defender sagged off her almost halfway to the hoop to help underneath because she's not a threat. Hansfordeque. Paulk is a much better defender than Hansford was, but they both shot so bad they couldn't be played.

Wilson played, but probably won't have if Beaty was in.

Alsia going in at the 4 and putting Addy to the 3 for a while really cut Harris' limited minutes, but she did the most with her time.

Re: shrinking, we also needed AJ or Hare out there consistently for defense to back up Jada. Then if you're playing taller, like Zork said, that cuts Harris' minutes (who I think was probably the next one we could've used most in this game). Wilson might not have gotten us the defense that Hare or AJ could've and the offensive benefit we might've gotten would've been minimal. Time and place, essentially.

Wilson played some valuable minutes in this one…around 7 I think. Definitely yeoman’s work. She looked confident and handled her time well. Syd got in about the same # of minutes…she seems to be struggling of late defensively. Just my opinion. I think it’s minor.

As for free throw misses. Late it may have been tired legs, but the team were equal opportunity missers throughout the game. I think only Brown had one instance where both were made.

I couldnt remember seeing Wilson or not (didnt check box score), I know the win was needed and big! Just hope we dont wear out the big 3 cause I think we have more pieces this year.

I think he might have, but Addy called an unplanned timeout earluer when she lost control of the ball and did not want to turn it over with a tie up. So CBF had one less timeout to play with.

The difference being Hansford was brought in as an elite 3pt shooter while Paulk is primarily a defender, though it'd be nice if she could get better at scoring.

You know she has to be able to score. Yes, she was a two time defensive player of the year at Wofford, but last year she the the conference POY. I’m still hoping she will find her way. Her defensive player is fun to watch. Adding 7-9 ppg would be icing on the cake.
