This game is a toss up in my books. I've been saying all season that Iowa is VERY good. But so are our Sisters.

There will be plenty of Hawks up in the balcony.
This games a tossup in my book. If we beat them by double digits, I'll believe we've got a darn good team.
Main thing is I want to get out with a W. I despise losing to Iowa

FWIW Bill said in his presser Beaty is being evaluated today by a specialist and we'll know if she's able to go later tonight.

Uhhh is he recruiting them to PSU?
lol - it is kinda crazy that PSU women’s basketball was a decent program in the 80s/90s but has been pitiful for over a decade. Football (+volleyball?) budget has to come from somewhere even at the those kind of schools

I'll be at dinner with my boss in suburban Chicago tomorrow night, so I don't know if I'll get to watch this live, but I'm actually OK with that as I have a bad feeling about this game. My concerns:

Chit Chat Wright is expected to play and Iowa has the twin towers (Heiden & Hayes), Hannah Stuelke and probably Emely Rodriguez to run at Audi. Simply put, their bigs run the court better than our bigs, and if I were Jensen I'd feed the post early and often to make Crooks work and possibly get in foul trouble. Audi hasn't been challenged yet this season - that'll likely change.

When you match them up 1-5, their athleticism is better than ours almost across the board, and the disparity grows larger when you go to the bench. We run Syd Harris out there as our sixth person, who can't do anything other than shoot threes.

Lastly, while EIU is young, they have leadership (Feuerbach & Stuelke) that's appeared in a National Championship final.

This won't be popular, but they have a better coaching staff than we do. CBF will play the percentages till the cows come home while Jensen will be creative if the game is close.

Our advantages - home court, experience and muscle / bulk - we're the female version of the Purdue men. I'll keep my fingers crossed but I won't wager any of my retirement funds on ISU tomorrow night. I hope I'm wrong and will gladly eat crow if we prevail - Go State!

I agree that they will try to run out after a rebound. Guards need to get back. I think Heiden is a step behind Crooks and will get into foul trouble. I do think our guards are better. I am most looking forward to Stuelke vs. Brown. That will be the difference in this game.

I agree on some things , but one thing I def disagree about is their athleticism being so much better than ours. Our front line of JW, AJ, and Hare are every bit as athletic as their front line. Stuelke and Brown are fairly equal in that area, but I’d take Brown’s overall game over Stuelke any day. Heiden is not exactly a speed demon but does run the court fairly well. She’s never had to deal with a post like Crooks yet. That’s going to be a key matchup. Our guards need to stay in the grills of the Iowa guards for sure.

Very candid response….Im going to somewhat embarrassingly admit I went down a rabbit hole about 4 years back when CC got to Iowa and I’ve watched 300ish women’s basketball games in some various form since then. I say that to say this, ISU is a way, way better team this year than last year and I’ve watched enough games to know the difference. I said it early and often last year ISUs guard play, including Emily, was substandard. They are much more versatile & dynamic now. They are fun to each & then definitely can win. As far as importance, ‍♂️ meh….the ISU vs Iowa stuff doesn’t mean near as much to me in my 50s as it did in my 30s. Especially in a 35 game, Bball schedule.

Lisa Bluder was a fine coach but, much like Fran & Fenelley, sure never took defense as serious as Jan has.

My guess is the team that rebounds the best, and plays defense the best will win. My guess is They’ll front Audi like they did last year & then flash someone behind her from time to time & out big time ball pressure on ISU like they have all season

I agree…

I’m 55 I have watched this rivalry diligently for years & every year one fan group says their more athletic & then PRO days, combines, drat grades come out in various sports and one team always has way faster Lbers, DBs, DBs etc than said other team….

If we were talking men’s basketball, you would be dead on, but Addie Brown is not even remotely as athletic is Hanna Stuelke. Hell if you called her a better basketball player I’d probably shrug that off, but they aren’t in the same stratosphere as far as athletic.

ISU does not have better guard play or athletes. Foul trouble is my only concern & I'm convinced they’ll front her & make ISU throw it over the top….less foul issues hopefully
