They did it. The Sisters came out quicker in this one. Here's what happened and there was lots of excitement!

The more I have thought about this game and what I saw, the same opinions keep forming. We saw the potential of this team while still seeing room for improvement. We got to see shooters making shots at a very high rate. Crooks still did her thing as did Brown. The defense continues to impress as they hold opponents below 35% shooting. The team as a whole shared the ball well as the assist numbers illustrated. We continue to see growth from players like Willie who is becoming a reliable threat and not just a minute filler.

Was this a one off? I don’t think so on most counts. To me the critical piece is having players like AJ, Harris, JW, and Hare be consistent threats from deep and further in. Thursday is the next step and then the holiday tourney. Stay tuned.

Pretty eager to see this team on the road at Drake this week. We've looked good but I want to see how we handle a road environment....these games against Drake and UNI always seem to be close. Drake and UNI have gotten the better of us the last two trips to Des Moines and Cedar Falls.

Not sure the Iowa schools in the Missouri Valley Conference are very good this year. Iowa easily thumped UNI at Cedar Falls and Drake got boat raced at Iowa. Out a ways but Drake plays at St. Thomas and Gophers visit DSM so those are a couple of Drake games that I am interested in. Tommies for margin of victory (is Drake any good?) and if Gopher can win a roadie. Expecting a Gophers win.

Drake and UNI do look down this year for sure but there's no question they always play with tons of fire and intensity whenever they host Iowa or Iowa State.
