Let’s hear them! I’m in the mood for some delicious Hawkeye tears. What was your best interaction this year. Excuses, crying or just your usual Hawk fan dumb fuckery.

Yeah I feel like most of the tavern hawks stayed home today. Every hawk I saw looked like they were either there in a family/friends divided situation or the type that actually has a connection to the University.
The earlier kick this year seemed to keep them in check. Last time they were in town they were mostly insufferable

Felt like a much smaller contingent in the stadium than in the past. Most of the Hawks I know were pretty convinced it was going to be a blowout in our favor so they didn't bother to make the trip. All of them around us were pretty tame the whole game.

Quite frankly, there were not a ton of Iowa fans at the game yesterday - which was refreshing. No bad interactions, but when they introduced the Women's BB Team accomplishments for the year, a Hawkette in front of me said: "You cannot talk WBB without Caitlyn Clark!" I just laughed inside. They really think she invented the game. / sarcasm.

On the way home I listened to some sound off, after the Iowa State callin show. What a cluster. They were trying to claim a moral victory because the game ended with a close enough score. When a fan claimed that they had ruined another quarterback, they had no idea what he was talking about.

It sounded like a McNut love fest. They kept talking about Michigan state.

Funny thing is even if they called it a slide he was past the sticks at that point
He was nearly 2 full yards past when starting the slide. It's honestly insane they even reviewed it. It wasn't remotely close. Absolutely the officials were hoping to find SOMETHING ambiguous to cling to in order to screw Iowa State. You would have to be an extremely dumb and gullible suckeye fan to spin that narrative as evidence of a bad call against Iowa.

And Hansen also had a clear 1st down earlier in the 3rd quarter that they marked 2 yards shorter. Both replay angles showed he didn't step out. Yet, crickets...

what did make it close is his knee appeared to touch down just short of the first down but the ball was in front of the sticks. When he made the cut, before the slide.
