    Watching the game, the Rams had 3 or 4 passes batted in the air and a Stafford fumble that he recovered, and came out unscathed. Bears seemed to pay for most mistakes, the Rams were fortunate not to.

    Niners got bailed out on a weak hands to the face call on what was a INT in the endzone. Seven point penalty. If the offense can get 3 or 7 to open the second half, this stays a game. But this doesn't feel like a game where you can go down two TDs and win.

    We had just shy of 2 inches in NW Ankeny. Lost power for about 2.5 hours, but got to give the new generator a test run. I think the battery backup sump pump would have lasted through it, but it was cycling much more frequently and I didn't want to risk it. Was not expecting to have to worry...

    Ankeny water ban

    I have a neighbor with a fescue lawn that looks great in dry years. I definitely think that's the future. Kentucky Bluegrass is really a dumb choice for our climate in most years, assuming you'd prefer to have something that doesn't require watering.

    Enjoying nature comes with risks! When visiting these types of sites, I try to do limited research, including looking at photos. I truly love the first sight of some of our country's natural beauty. Rolling up to Devil's Tower for the first time with no real defined expectations was mind blowing.

    Do the hike around Devil's Tower. On your way around, it feels like you enter/exit about four different ecosystems. That site was one of my favorites, and we've done about everything mentioned in this thread. Breathtaking natural structure.

    I'm not gonna read through the whole thread to confirm, but with kids that age, check out the Hayride & Chuckwagon Cookout at Blue Bell Lodge in Custer. Kids will have an absolute blast.

    Not always true. I contested in Ankeny several years ago. The board agreed and knocked it down 6.5% to what I recommended based on area sales. Two years later, the assessment dropped another fraction. Yes, I'm up 9-10% this year, but with the exception of one year in the 15ish we've lived here...

    Hy-Vee's weirdest business decision yet?

    Already there. Three kids, four gallons of milk and a lot of produce each week. Aldi is about half what we were paying at Hy-Vee, and the quality of fruit is much better!
