    The smoke seems much better today but I had a bit of a scratchy throat from just a little time outside yesterday and today. Now the heat and humidity are getting me geared up for fall.

    Worst Steven Spielberg movie

    Meh. While I think it's better than other clunky monster movies, after Dr. Grant listens to the Triceratops it gets pretty clunky for me and as an aside I get really annoyed by a few characters.

    The sequels all know they're goofy and full of plot devices. The first one acts like it isn't when it absolutely is and is just kind of cheesy for a good portion.

    It's a very unpopular opinion but it just hasn't aged well for me. I also think that with all of the hype around the CGI, it's funny they didn't get basic effects right in other areas.

    I haven't seen them all but of the 'hits' Jurassic Park is the worst imo. Iconic scenes and tech for the time but after the initial appearances of dinos when they get to the park it's kind of just a campy monster movie.

    His last season's last two losses saw NU get a solid 76 (KU) and 65 (CU) hung on them. And it was glorious.

    CR is imo the definition of 'if you know you know' for folks in the area that grew up there. City/urbanish but a small town feel.

    Yeah never been either but I did go to Missoula, MT a few years ago and imo that would be more suitable for myself vs. a bigger metro area. Mountains are right there.

    Yes all true but 3-6 is not good or pretty good...might be different if it were a program like OU or Texas in their primes but that's not what Iowa was in the CMC era.

    ISU was beating Top Ten teams in his 2nd season and made that at least some what of an expectation, not the rare exception so the 'it takes a few years' deal doesn't really fit. Iowa was good during the stretch, but not great and ISU generally flailed around in the game and finally stumbled...

    Regardless CMC didn't do 'pretty good' against them and it's not like they were some dominant force.
