Call me crazy but since the schools are getting giant checks from the tv networks, shouldn't the tv networks REALLY be the ones paying college athletes?
I don't get why people dislike Thunderstruck.....it is a hype song and it plays into the "weather/natural disaster" aspect....after all, we are the Cyclones.
I feel like the Big 12/Oklahoma State is going to do everything in their power to not have them play in Ames....and honestly, I don't know why.....she might get a bad reception when she's back or she may not, but regardless they'll beat us by 40 anyway.
You bring up good points for sure and obviously other schools do deal with bad injury luck and coaches leaving but this year has felt like it's all come crashing down.
And for what it's worth, as fun as our basketball season was, you're judged based on how you do in March and the J Jeff injury...
I get it, most of you only care about football and MBB, and while I obviously want our profitable sports to be doing well, I also care about our Olympic sports too. I want our soccer, wrestling, volleyball, and softball teams to be good too.
Let's recap Iowa State's 2025-26 athletics year:
Football loses it's winningest HC in program history thus resulting in the decimation of our roster.
Gymnastics program gets cut...bad optics by JP and co.
Joshua Jefferson gets a no contact injury that possibly prevents Iowa State from going...
For sure but less annoying than Arkansas fans......I've never seen a fan base (other than Iowa) that talks more about how good they are with none of the trophies to back it up than Arkansas.
We also really can't whine either because as much as it sucks Milan is at UK now, Iowa State does the same thing to "lesser" funded programs too. Think about how mid major schools like the Drake's, UNI's, and Bradley's of the world think whenever we or some other P5 school take their best...
Tamin is like the one exception because while he's a great college player, he's really small and has kind of an inconsistent shot...his NBA prospects probably aren't there....and also he is an Ames and Iowa State kid born and raised so his emotional attachment to Iowa State goes way deeper than...
You're mistaken if you think they actually care about that. No athlete in modern college athletics truly cares about being in a school's HOF. It's always about getting the bag...and you really can't fault these athletes because the NCAA has zero control over how any of this works. Don't hate the...
Nothing beats walking out of the MU and seeing the fountain of the four seasons with the campanile in the background. I've been lucky to grow up close to Iowa State, so I had been on campus hundreds of times prior to even going to Iowa State but I always imagine what the kids who had never seen...
