    Great win. Aside from Astros pitching, I’m not sure another team has been as negatively impacted from the injury but as we have, but we’re making it through. Probably your two best bats out hurt and a third fighting a hammy issue. Ace is still out. Yet we’re still plugging away wins.

    Morel with a -0.1 WAR on Baseball Reference and I’m confident it will only be worse once today is uploaded. Need better results if he’s going to be the cleanup or we need to find a different situation for him. He is not the guy this FO tries selling him to be.

    Back to back years (Soares and Notabu) our staff has found 5’s that were not really known by the general public that we had any interest until the last minute. I would guess the staff has their eyes on a 5 that is likely under the radar.

    I’ve noticed that. Lots of uncompetitive pitches, especially against lefties. Feel like that’s been an issue for a lot of our guys.

    I hope Nerris, similar to Fulmer, can eventually become a guy we can trust high leverage, but I’m just not there, yet. Good win but I believe 2 of his outs were pretty damn hard contact and his stuff just doesn’t look great Hell of a job from Brown tonight. Build off it

    My guess is that conversation with Wesneski wasn’t very pleasant. The move itself was risky with how poor this bullpen has been. Was glad to see guys who technically work for the organization question the decision

    When it comes to early sell off teams I have in mind (A’s, Rockies, White Sox, Marlins) the only relievers I’d have any interest are Miller, who the Athletics would never trade, and Kopech, who will cost an arm and a leg, and they’ve fleeced us in recent history

    Honestly I think you go by committee the next 4-5 days and once he’s gone through his usual rest, throw Assad in the 9th. Dude just takes everything given to him and busts his ass to make it work.
