3-3-5 Defense Cost Us An 8-0 Start.

Free up other guys to do what? We don't rush them. Dropping 8 is the same whether we have our starting corners or not when it comes to getting a rush.

3 best players? Orange is playing last i checked and corners don't blitz the QB.

I hate to say this, but look at the hawkeyes defense. They get similar kids to what we do every single year and they have top 20 defenses every single year with arguably "less talent from NIL". That has been a huge discussion about the lack of money they spend as well. I don't see them running...

We won 11 in spite of our defense year

Apparently you have to pay NIL to blitz :curse:

Kickers didn't give up 31 points in 2 qtrs to Cincinnati. And our rush defense isn't hurt by losing corners. Every team loses players, but refusal to change when you do is on the coaches.

How would you ever know? We don't ever change to try anything else. What we are doing hasn't worked in 2 seasons. 3-3-5 works with Will McDonald because he's a legit 1st round NFL rusher. Hasn't worked since.

So sick and tired of these 3-man rush defenses that get 0 pressure. The most upsetting part is that it is correctable. It's all scheme, not personnel. Heacock's refusal to change is maddening. Great year ruined by this terrible base defense.

    Jefferson NOT gone.

Player A (an amateur) is on a 1 year contract for $3m and plays 32+/- games Player B (a professional) starts in the NBA for $500k, is on a 4-5 year contract, and plays 82+ games. None of this is NIL btw.

    Jefferson NOT gone.

Ok, the point is that there are aprons to ensure teams dont spend more unless they want to pay crazy luxury taxes. At some point these schools need to get back to a neutral playing field that doesn't put the burden on the fans and schools at financial risk for ruin just to compete.

    Jefferson NOT gone.

NFL, NBA, MLB all have salary caps. This is the same thing. You can only afford X$ per player to field a team. All teams play by the same rules and cap to ensure a level playing field. The cap changes over time, but there are still "limits" on what a player can make.

    Senior Appreciation Thread

First of all. Shout out to the Seniors this year. Chatfield - brought alot more to the team than I would have expected to start the season. Gilbert - extremely dynamic player that should be a tryout/shot at the next level, but injuries plagued him and a special all-around season Jones -...

Title IX New Ruling Changes NIL Payments for Athletes

No, fans don't pay what they want if you are attending. Minimums go up and up. Don't you think patrick mahomes would get 100million+ a year if not for salary caps? That's the point. Without salary caps it's just which college and donors have thr biggest pocketbook. This has been the case in...
