Travelling to IA City fo the game?
Just got back from the volleyball match (great match - complete domination). A little heads up - 1st Ave (or whatever it is), exit 242 in IA City - the exit marked as "Sports Venues" , is under construction and down to one lane. This has always been slow as it was - will be a parking lot... -

I don't pay attention to these future scheduling "what if". But it sounds like it's likely that both schools will be playing 9 game conference schedules, only leaving 3 non-cons (I suppose that might be more of a given now that the Big 10 has released it's divisions). So, can it be assumed... -

That's a good point. It also reminds me of a talk a PF biologist gave at Ike's one evening. Said that he tries to clear every rooster he can off his property before winter really hits. The key is hens, not roosters. The hens will get bred, and all those roosters are doing is keeping much... -

I didn't run into much corn in my pheasant hunting - only go a few places and it wasn't an issue. Didn't talk to too many who had problems either. Definitely made my bow hunting an impossible task, however. Glad to see the crops are supposedly maturing and drying out very early this year... -

Not that we shouldn't be reminded.... but that's a definite downer. :wink: Ironically enough, as both teams were fighting for bowl position, and as the game was moved to the final week of the season due to 9/11 ... that was quite possibly the most heated and truely important game in the series. -

Not sure I'm following? If anything, wouldn't late harvest and crops in the fields help the population? More cover, more food? This year's decline were on top of two previous years big declines. Edit: you're not talking about projections, but harvest numbers. Gotcha -

Yes - talked with her club coach last night and he said it was a mutual decision by her and the coaches. Good for her. She'd likely see very little time this season - no use burning the eligibility.- DaddyMac

State by state Pheasants Forever's 2010 Pheasant Hunting Forecast Sounds like Iowa is expected to be pretty bad this year. Not surprising. Wonder if the DNR has any intention to reduce the daily or possession limits and help things bounce up.
