    Any time there's a coaching change, one would expect some retrenchment and consolidation. Add in the roster turnover, and I think most of us aren't expecting Onward and Upward from the CMC years. Optimistically we can start to establish an identity, develop some players, and play well.

    I interpret Pope's comment as just another way of saying to shoot more. Most players will shoot a lower percentage if they shoot more because they're likely taking more contested shots, shots off the dribble, etc. I hope Milan does well.

    Difference was CMC's teams were rarely blown out. They were in the game even against highly rated teams. An example was in 2018 against Kyler Murray's Oklahoma team.     Team 1 is 20 years of players. Team 2 is 10. I'd still take Team 2 but there were a lot of great players in both eras.

    That should change over time. It's easier to keep players than to get players and the longer players are in the system, the better the chance for success.

    If we're in the mid-40s, I think that's pretty damn good for an unproven coach in a mid-level P4 program. It makes a lot of difference how the pieces fit together.

    Everyone wants to run the ball. The team that most effectively runs the ball wins most games. But very few teams can just line up and run the ball against quality opponents.     The Yankees still are limited in their player acquisitions by the draft and luxury tax on salaries. There's increased talk of a salary cap. Baseball is about the only pro sport without a cap.
