ASU got screwed. The RPI is terrible. I don't know why they still use it in baseball. There's a reason basketball uses the NET and KenPom instead. Currently the NCAA has the three teams ranked:
Ole Miss #18
Nebraska #20
Arizona State #22
It will be an interesting regional with three teams that...
If we’re talking about how the recruiting class looked on paper, the 2023 class with Momcilovic, Biliew, and Rock was very highly rated at the time. It didn’t pan out to be a top class for ISU however.
I know it’s early, but ISU could be loaded in 2027/28. Toure, Batemon, Johnson, Wiggins in the backcourt. And Pleta, Singleton, DRK up front, all with another full season under their belts. The future is bright!
I feel like if TJ had told him in their end of the season meeting that he didn’t expect him to contribute this year, Mitchell would have entered the portal.
That could be. I expect Batemon to start as the 2 and either Toure or Johnson start at PG. I know TJ started two point guards this year, so maybe he will again. I’m guessing TJ doesn’t even know who will start. All three will probably get 25-30 minutes per game so it doesn’t really matter who...
I can see Batemon and Johnson as the starting backcourt. Both are great on the ball defenders and can score in the half court. Toure will certainly play starters minutes off the bench in that case. We will be small at the 3, but to be fair, with Milan not being a big rebounder or interior...
For me it’s different if they don’t leave by choice. I believe Milan wants to stay at ISU if he ends up returning to college, but TJ has let him know they can’t wait for him to find out his NBA prospects. ISU can’t afford to sit on millions in NIL money just n case Milan doesn’t go to the NBA...
I don’t know that going with a 7 or 8 man rotation is necessarily a philosophy. I think TJ would go with a ten man rotation if he thought we had the athletes. On paper, especially if Milan returns and Singleton signs, this would be TJ’s deepest team so far.
I think not being with the team over the summer hurt Pleta. I think, with a full offseason with the trainers and the team, he can make a big leap forward this year.
I agree. I don't think he's ready for the NBA yet, and I'm sure he can make more at ISU. Of course, what do I know? When Brock Purdy was drafted I thought, "Neat. Maybe he can play a few years as a second or third string QB."
