    I think I-80 between DSM and Iowa City is one of the worst stretches of road in the country. The drivers are just bad the whole way.

    The max speed is something that gets specified by the customer during during the sale. It can be reprogrmmed by dealers when people buy used. Most fleet owners want to limit max speed for fuel economy and insurance premiums. A "push to pass" feature could certainly be implemented, but we can't...

    I cut those guys a little break because the trucks are often electronically limited to between 65 and 70mph. They'd go faster if they could. The other issue is Iowa's rolling hills don't allow them to maintain speed differences long enough to actually pass quickly.

    Why not? If it was 100% his asset and she had no legal right to it, he should be able to throw her out at any time. You can't have it both ways.

    Just to hit the flip-side of this discussion... I don't think its a big deal when youre young, but once you have a family it does get harder. Grandparents want to see their grandkids. Flying is cheap with one economy ticket, but is tougher buying 4 and traveling with all the things kids...

    Rural USA in a nutshell. I lived in a very small Iowa town for about 8 years after graduation. Population less than 1000 and maybe 5 different last names. I was always the new person who lived in "the old so-and-so place" and "so-and-so" was like three owners ago.
