And holy crap - if OSU beats Tennessee you get a near-traditional Rose Bowl matchup.

They didn't want any team to have home field I guess.

Watch out, Bama might get rid of their brutal out of conference scheduling since the SEC is such a gauntlet. Vandy and a bad OU just make your schedule too difficult.

Saban was crying about not scheduling tough out of conference games. Alabama lost 3 SEC games didn't they? Two bad losses as well. Can't have two bad losses Bama. Sorry. SEC was overrated anyway.

Nobody forces the SEC to schedule UMass and Mercer and Furman for November games.

He also prefaced by saying under the premise of non revenue share there are going to be huge advantages for certain teams.

He also said SEC needs to schedule 10 conference games

He is not wrong about $$. Unfortunately.

I wonder if they are going to re look at things next year. With the byes being what the are I could see a lot of years being like this one where the 1 seed has the hardest path. Kinda weird but don’t know what you do about it. That 2 seed is the best spot by far

Sounds like if you can't make the playoff, the answer is to kick everyone else out. Why bother with 30 when you could just do 16 SEC teams.

SMU played BYU and TCU in their non-conf portion and Alabama's toughest game was at a terrible Wisconsin team.

At least now that they are paid they don’t have to pretend that they care about the ‘student athlete’. National Scheduling committee, more games, semi-pro football. That is where it’s heading.

Yep. He's worried that this will teach coaches not to schedule tough opponents. What it should teach them is not to lose to Vandy and Oklahoma.

He only "scheduled" the non-cons, which included 1 P4 team (v 2 for SMU) along with Mercer and Western Ky. How much easier can it get? (And yes I know he's not there, but no doubt these games were scheduled on his watch).
