9 just because we didn’t pull the title. But now that I think about it it’s probably a 10 because there are like 100 posters here that won’t be able to cry about non con sos at selection time.
Forget the posters, but it will be nice to not have to listen to the idiot national talking heads harping on our non con SOS while ignoring the fact that our overall SOS is still top 10 due to our brutal league slate. Any justification they can pull out to dump on a non blue blood.

No question that I feel better about this team now than I did before the tournament (and I felt really good about them before the tournament)!

We have more quality depth on this roster than any other ISU roster I can remember. Just need to stay healthy.

Colorado was a get right game for us and I think showed what he is possible if we play up to our potential.

I think this is what I’m most impressed with. We gritted out the Dayton game after a huge emotional letdown. And then we beat Colorado by 30 15 hours later. Colorado isn’t great but we didn’t let up one bit which is exactly what we’ll need to do throughout the entire Big 12 schedule.

9 only because of not boxing out on tip.
Last year they were not good feast week against some lesser opponents.

2-1 out of those teams is solid

I know it's not the same, but I try to imagine if our runs and Auburn's run were flopped, how would I feel about the game. Like, if Auburn had an 18 point lead, we came back and still lost by a last minute tip-in, would I view the game differently?

Similar thought I've had. Or maybe if it had been 1- or 2-possession / back & forth for most of the game. Still would be a bummer to lose late, but maybe less "deflating" on the surface.

As others have posted already, knowing Auburn won title takes a little sting out of the loss. Maybe we didn't get the most resume-boosting path due to the bracket and results, but I'm not even sure about that (who expected UConn to finish 8th?).

7. Didn't beat a ranked team, but I think the Dayton win will age well, maybe even better than a UCONN win would have. If Gilbert doesn't get into foul trouble vs Auburn I think we build a larger 1st half lead and ultimately win that game and potentially the tourney. We played them the best out of their other games.

8/10 as well. Auburn loss stings, but that's a Final Four/NC caliber team. It won't hurt us one bit and showed we can match another truly elite team.

Dayton was better than I expected. They will be a tournament team, and they gave our guys a battle where we had to find a way to win. That will pay dividends.

CU isn't a bad team, and Boyle is a good coach. Blowing a team out like that is always a good feeling, and was glad to see we still brought it after two physically brutal and draining games.
Boyle’s not great.

The 9 votes are correct, in my opinion. Auburn is really good. I would have liked to see is play UNC or Michigan State, maybe, but I have no reason to believe we wouldn’t have mopped them. Dayton is a really good squad, and for us to turn around after a tough to swallow loss to one of the best teams in the land was a great response. Then blew the doors off Colorado, who is decent.

Overall, great showing.

9 but pretty close to 10. Auburn was a bummer ending, but nobody else even played them close. Had that not been our first big matchup, I think Iowa State would have won. Other 2 wins were fantastic. Off to a better start on the resume this year.

Agree with you. Although I don’t care about playing UNC, UCONN, or MSU - we have like 9 more Top 10 games left on the schedule. In my opinion, outside of the squandered lead, we did exactly what we needed to in Maui.

Now we get to see what justification they come up with this time. New entertainment.

Well, I just got home from the movie.

He did well
to lift up the island. His singing and rapping seem to have fallen off though. And he keeps dropping his hook. By now you'd expect that he would have figure out how to not drop his hook.

8.

Would have been a 7 if they ended the Auburn game with a collapse instead of playing them to a draw from 13:51 to 00:01.8, a 9 if they’d won on Jones’s last second heave, and a 10 if they’d maintained firm control throughout.

In the context of the rest of the basketball this week it is hard not to be excited as **** about the prospects for this team. There is nobody who would be favored over them at home (and maybe only KU at the T-Mobile Center).

They absolutely look the part of a #1 seed.

Went with a 9, I thought we played the best half of BB I can remember since we took apart Houston at home last season vs Auburn. Granted the 2nd half left a lot be desired but after blowing the large lead, we came back to tie it up and had the ball to win it at the end, and then lost on a tip back.
Mentally it would have been difficult getting up of Dayton after the Auburn game and it looked like we were struggling, but came out with an easy win. Then played the best we have all year vs Colorado and just ground them down.

This is a very talented team that will get better as the defense jells and they get used to playing together. We can throw 9 guys out on the court and not see a lot of drop off.

This ISU team is a final four team. Gilbert may be the best player in college basketball. If he is on the floor, he is an efficient 20 point per game player. You have two great spot up 3 shooters. You have 3 quality bigs, one who has the ability to create his own offense.

Without a doubt, this is the best ISU team in my lifetime and I am 60 years old. The Auburn game was a killer and will probably cost ISU a #1 seed in the NCAA tournament. And yes, it is very possible that ISU, Auburn and Kansas are the three best teams in the country. But seeding matters. It should protect you from having to play a great team on basically their home floor (like having to play Michigan State in Detroit in the elite 8).

This team is still capable of sweeping the Big 12 regular season and conference championship. And that is what they need to do. It is a high goal, but these guys are that good.

I went with 8. I was actually far more frustrated with the first half against Dayton than I was with the second half of the Auburn game. We were out-hustled for a big chunk of that half and were fortunate to only be down four. We played four good halves of basketball out of six. But overall, probably had the second best tournament in the field. 8/10.
