***OFFICIAL CFP Rankings Show Watch Thread***

The most forgotten about top 25 win of the season goes to Kansas State. How many people in the country know that KSU won at Tulane this year? Why are they ahead of KSU is an even better question
Tulane ahead of Kansas State … SMU ahead of BYU …

I thought the actual outcomes of games were supposed to matter.

If the committee seriously ends up snubbing the Big 12 champion for both Boise St and Tulane, I would say it'd be time for lawsuits to fly. NEITHER of those teams should be ahead of the Big 12 champion, and that's double for BOTH of them.

(yeah, I know - pipe dream - but still)

Strange that all the announcers want to use SOS when it helps the SEC, but then are talking up Boise and Tulane when they have a SOS of #75 and #91. The fix is in, we might as well face it, everything will be done to discount the B12 as much as possible.

Big 12 champs isn't getting left out, stop the crying. If ISU wins the big 12, they"d beat #24 K State and a top 15 ASU team. ASU wins the title, they are already ahead of Tulane.

An ISU win over #24 KSU should propel ISU up several spots in next week's rankings... certainly above Tulane and maybe above Boise State too.

It’s also crazy now that the SEC favorites are piling up losses the committee turns its lonely eyes to the ACC to get multiple teams in. Because an SMU that lost to Kansas State and should have lost to Duke, and a Miami team that got bailed out of two losses by the officials, and a Clemson team that’s, well, Clemson but still probably won‘t even make the CCG just screams “two of these teams are playoff worthy!”

common sense would dictate that... but we're not dealing with common sense here. we're dealing with "use whatever narrative we have to to get what we want... even if it directly conflicts with narrative we've laid out earlier".

there is nothing common sense about this playoff.

I'm also not convicted Boise wins out. If committee members actually paid attention to their games, they are barely sneaking some of these out. Should have lost to a 2-8 Wyoming team.

I think this is all theatre.
Iowa State, ASU and BYU would all have another 1-2 ranked wins in the final poll.

Boise is probably going to win out which will also give them another ranked win, so on paper they are #11 and going to have two more wins including a ranked win and conference title and only one loss.
ASU and ISU don't have great SoS, but Boise is pretty far behind everyone, although everyone remembers the Oregon game.

we do have to admit its going to be hard for ASU/ISU/BYU to jump Boise on paper, so what you may see is the committee just stripping off the rankings and then they re-rank everyone like it should be at the end. but they are going to have to explain how Boise goes from #10/11 to behind ISU/ASU if the Big12 gets the #4 seed.
Iowa state is probably the one in best shape, because they are currently ranked 18th with two ranked teams to play potentially. That will be easy for the committee to justify at that point.

on top of this, there will be losses above us coming as there are some teams playing each other.

Maybe we shouldn't have lost to Texas tech?

The Big 12 needs to change to playing only 8 conference games. The committee has shown a teams SOS doesn't matter. The ACC & SEC are doing it and it props up those leagues. This Big 12 is just making it more difficult for itself.

I think the Big10 is also talking about it.

I agree with doing whatever it takes to increase the Big 12 perception.

The potential pitfall:

Not scheduling the complete cream puffs the SEC schedule

Keep in mind the CFP committee will push whatever narrative that supports their agenda.

It’s an uphill battle
