Dwayne Pierce Stepping Away From The Team

After the past three years you have people just ignoring how things have gone or are still waiting for the other shoe to drop because they needed layers of interviews and TJ to watch some safety videos before being offered the job.
I haven't seen any of this at all.

Come on now. He's a special case and I mean that in the nicest condescending way possible.

I think that was a throwback to the “we didn’t do a proper search with a search firm!” days. That was everywhere. There’s also the timeless “has to have head coaching experience!” Crowd.

If I remember correctly, the previous staff at St. John’s offered him, Pitino took over and the offer was rescinded. I’m guessing things changed?

But I haven't seen anything like that since before Brockington started making everyone his *****.

The ability to round out the rotation with Nate Heise types is going to impact the opportunity for sub top 100 high school recruits. Heise is a 22 year old proven All-MVC player who the Dwayne Pierce recruits would be competing with for bench minutes.

Not really saying this is good or bad, just is what it is… but you could see DP following a Jelani Hamilton path this year even if he stayed.

I've seen it plenty of times cloaked in some comments and it seems some posters only show up when there's a chance a recruit simply didn't want to be at ISU or when ISU went through a rough stretch during his first two seasons.

There's a hint of 'see? I knew he'd fail' like he hasn't been absolutely killing it.

I have not seen that at all and even if it were the case who cares?

Id disagree there. We are never going to sign the top tier, high dollar transfers. However, when we recruit stud freshman and hit on the transfer portal for multi-year players, the lion's share of those NIL dollars are going to player retention. Keep your own happy. Look no further than Momcilovic, Gilbert and Curtis Jones this offseason. You better believe they had options to leave.
Where did he say anything opposite of that. If you land a stud freshman (the hit rate is low) he will be in the league before 4 years is up.

I find it fascinating.

Like people want a coach to fail because ISU didn't go after a bunch of coaches that wouldn't have come to Ames or whatever they thought that process should have been.

It's petty to pay attention, I'm well aware.

People suck pretty consistently.

do I care that a guy left the program who wasn’t going to see the floor?

no.
y basketball. if he’s homesick, that’s fine. no issues with the reason he left.
I appreciate your honesty. I do.

And thanks for not getting mad at me. I was just messing w/ ya. Peace
