About 15-20 minutes ago in the J Creek area was some of the hardest winds I’ve heard at the office. Saw the news say 75mph

Sounds like from Ryan Halls stream that there is a tornado on the ground in Grimes area I think. In the dead zone of the radar so hard to see. Trying to confirm though.

Had some brief high winds that have already died down but don't think it was a tornado

Yeah, it was not messing around. I went straight to the basement.

It was from one of the spotters, said he saw one by the Menards in Grimes.

Interesting, I live a mile west just down 44 from there and all we had was heavy rain and the wind picked up briefly but not more than a couple minutes.

SW West Des Moines got dicey for a bit but everything looks pretty minor..

Temp has dropped 7 degrees in Ames, torrential rain and high winds. Much lighter to the west/southwest. Think we lost KCCI, at least from my TV.

Yeah looks like it passed right by me in NW Ankeny, but didn't see anything. Did get really windy here as well.

Not much rain in Urbandale this storm compared to this morning, but some down draft winds were bending the neighbors trees while at the same time to the west you could see clear skies.

Is this wave going to be the end of things in the metro and elsewhere?
