Sorry, but this is an extremely errant statement. We aren't talking about being the "best team", rather being a team GOOD ENOUGH to win. EVERY World Series winner, as well as opponent, has been 14 games or more above .500 for nearly 2 decades. The last team that wasn't? You guessed it, the luckiest team in baseball history, the 2006 StL Cardinals. But even that team had something going for it this team doesn't; a team that had been very good/successful for the previous 6 or so seasons, and a generational talent in Pujols. Lucky for them they were in the worst division in baseball and in the lesser of the two leagues.
This team might not be good enough to make the playoffs, let alone win it. While you're right, anyone can 'win it' if they're in it's highly unlikely that a team of this caliber actually does.
If the Cubs make the playoffs would you bet 1000 on them winning the Series? Didn't think so.
Got Candelario, now we just have to hope the FO didn’t give up too much for a rental

It's two names that don't hurt to lose if we are going to buy. Hopefully they can do the same when they bolster the pen. Those 2 are the # 14 and 16 ranked prospects in the Cubs system per MLB.com
Knowing Ross I'd bet he'll be facing RHP and Madrigal LHP.Fine trade in my opinion
Hopefully Nellie gets a shot in KC
Funky delivery with crazy spin rate numbers. The kind of guy the pitch lab does wonders with. Plus, he's got two option years left.Who the fook is Cuas

I could see it but wouldn’t like it. Don’t we have control for awhile and he’s cheap cheap?Wisdom likely next???
Can only hope. He's the odd man out now and likely headed to Iowa to make room for Candelario. Gotta make another roster move for this reliever too, guessing it's Kay. Getting a lefty reliever would be nice but probably not gonna happenWisdom likely next???
He's a non-tender candidate at end of the season IMO. Does he really have a future here at this point? He has some hot streaks once in awhile but otherwise is a strikeout machine when he's cold.I could see it but wouldn’t like it. Don’t we have control for awhile and he’s cheap cheap?
I like him as a lefty platoon at 1B/3B personally, but I’m in zero way attached to the guy and would live if he leftHe's a non-tender candidate at end of the season IMO.
