They issued a flash flood watch for the twin cities last night for the potential of 3-5" of rain.

Didn't receive a single drop

More small thunderstorms brewing up. Got dark and lot's of thunder and actually getting some thunderstorm rain at 4:26 p.m. but bet it doesn't last more than a few minutes.

Edit: 4:30 and it's done for the moment. All it did was mess up my deck chair rehab project. Got new slings made for my old vintage Brown Jordon chairs and need to wax and polish these old vintage babies before doing the new slings.

Looks like most of the twin cities will get a good rain today. But my area (SW metro) won’t get much if any. Just had a couple sprinkles. Sigh.

Channel 13 shows first round going north of Des Moines and second round overnight going south of Des Moines. Imagine that. I give up.

PS I hope they are wrong

Unfortunately the storm is entering Coralville now, which is the current RAGBRAI overnight stop. Hope everyone will be okay.

Quite a bit of lightning too. Got caught out in Marshalltown one year and all I could do was sit on the outside of a block public park restroom opposite of the wind.
