Guess we'll see if BY really means he wants to stay at 14.

We're at 13 right now (after OU/TX leave). Washington could make 14.

Do we stop? Or get up to 16 with AZ/Oregon?

I'd argue 16 with those 4 new ones is a strong add.

SEC and Big 10 are at 16 after this all shakes out right? Would make sense to get to 16 then.

It’ll be Washington tonight/tomorrow, Oregon and Arizona will then make the move early next week.
Think you have that reversed. It’s most likely Oregon first. Even though their fans aren’t happy about it, it makes sense for them to jump. Washington is a horrible fit but they are probably going to get forced

I’m sure Cal grads are great. It’s their faculty and trustees that make me not want to deal with them.

You may have better luck finding a Cyclone football fan in Berkeley or Los Angeles than a Bears or Bruins fan. In terms of actual football fans I'm dead serious.

We're lucky the powers that be started realizing some of this just in time for the B12 to solidify this position.

NOT TRYING TO CAVE, but apart from the relevancy of "feelings" on cultural alignment and debating its relevance...

Doesn't California have very real law(s) that are meant to discourage, or at least prohibit public money being used by California public universities that wish to travel for competition in states that have laws they find particularly objectionable?

(States with laws, for better or worse, like some you might find in TX, OK, IA, KS, FL, WV etc...now or in the forseeable future?)
That was the case very recently. I doubt it has changed.

I'm talking myself into believing the surprise is Washington. Just feels like they've got less leverage than Oregon at this point *cough PHIL KNIGHT cough* and may want to get out in front of this to assure their spot even if the Big Ten is the end goal.
Could be possible- but I keep hearing them being rumored to the BIG with Oregon.

Could this be any more pretentious? I don't think listing your fraternity is necessarily pretentious but listing it over 20 years after you graduate certainly seems that way.

idk... i have seen a lot of chatter about washington and oregon being vetted and approved by the big 10 who is waiting for the pac to fully unravel and swoop in. this could be just that and be chatter, but i think this mystery non-corners team is Cal.
