***2026 Minnesota Vikings***

What a terrible time to be rebuilding in the NFC North... Zimmer and KAM shot the franchise in the foot with these vet extensions and retaining Kirk for a premium salary..

Chicago and GB look like they are going to be 5-7 win teams at best. I don't trust DET to win more than 9-10 games... SO this division is right there if we had a better cap situation.

Trading Hunter means this is a re-build and I fear the team is too good to be able to get a top 12 pick and be able to draft a QB high or trade up in the 2024 draft
I'm guessing you mean Spielman instead of Zimmer? I don't mind any moves that KAM has made this off season. He is trying to work around some of Spielman's poor contracts and the only way to make the team a legit super bowl contender is to rebuild. I am guessing KAM is working to stockpile picks for next years draft and make a trade up in the first round for a QB they like.

The Pack and Bears should flounder this year, but Detroit won 8 of their last 10 games and looked like a team ready to change their recent misfortunes.

I know it's still the Lions, but I think they're a team to watch this year.

And please feel free to quote this when they end up only winning 5 games or some ****. I'll be glad to have properly jinxed them!

The jury is out on KAM for me. It's still too early to judge him. One thing I believe gets overlooked is that he is operating under specific parameters given to him. The whole "competitive rebuild" BS is from the Wilfs. Personally I think that's a mistake and it's going to cause more middle of the pack teams, but I'm certain that's primarily why Cousins is still around. Lose the above average QB and the team wins 5 games last year.

Neither Booth nor Cine are running with the 1’s so far according to PA. Both fully cleared medically. That’s not a good sign.

The report I heard from yesterday's practice was that Cine was with the 2s and Booth was with the 1s.

I wouldn't be worried about Cine. Smith and Bynum are solid safeties and Metallus is a solid 3rd guy. Cine coming off the injury jumping ahead of them right away would be surprising.

I'd hope Booth was running with the #1's, but if its Evans instead, thats fine.

I did see that Mehki Blackmon got some reps with the starters. Probably just to see how he fared, but thats good non-the-less.

Sounds like Booth, Evans and Blackmon are all getting reps with the 1's.

The first draft I will always view with a skewed lens. It was his first draft as a GM and he was hired late enough in the process that he kept the same scouting department that Spielman had. Ingram, Assamoah, and Ty Chandler have pretty good potential. Jury is out on Cine and Booth (but I don't have a lot of hope with Booth). I think Akayleb Evans was a great pick that unfortunately had severe concussion issues (which KAM can't control). We will see how this draft class pans out, but I like a lot of what KAM has done so far (including hiring KOC and Flores).

Last year's draft could turn out to be great. They probably won't all hit, but thats 6 guys and if 4 or 5 of them turn out to be solid starters, I think thats a really good draft.

I'd consider that overall pretty encouraging. Booth was injury plagued but when finally healthy and got the start he struggled mightily. Some of the completion rate stats against him were off the charts bad. But it was still a small data set amidst a bunch of injuries. I thought Evans played well and showed he could be a serviceable starter. Evans was a nice value pick. Let's hope Cine is fully healthy and contributes.
