Otzelberger's First Recruiting/Transfer Class - FULL

I wonder how many Texas Tech players will enter the portal. I'd certainly be OK with quite a few of them given the coaching style of Beard. I'm guessing quite a few will follow him, but some will just go elsewhere.

Would we have interest and a chance at any of the following?
(1) Shannon (Chicago kid, good scorer, decent 3P%)
(2) Naldony (we were a finalist (different coach, but he liked the school from my reports) out of HS, not impressive metrics, but he oozed athleticism/potential the last month or so of the season)
(3) Burton (we were in contact last year when he transferred from Wichita State, not impressive numbers, but another one I think looked underutilized at TT)
(4) Any others with which one of our new coaches has a connection?

Shannon is likely going to the NBA.

Doubt we'd go after Naldony, but who knows.

Burton, no.

I think maybe you’re looking at his 2pt%, but either way he’s a solid shooter.

Fixed. Not sure what I was looking at. This is a BIG want for me.

Jaz, Jamal Cain and Hinson would be AMAZING depth at the 3-4 spots. All large humans who are strong rebounders and good shooters.

Jaz
Hinson/Cain
Foster

That's 4 DUDES with lots of free agency.. I mean transfer season left

Jamal Cain's a big time hustle guy. Watch this video from one year ago around this time where he was interviewed about being Marquette's leader in the grit category. He's a high flying, very good defender who shoots 38% from the 3.

He's a take.

I wonder what the staff sees. They aren't alone as Minnesota and Virginia Tech are in as well.
My guess would be a big body that can rebound and gets us back in the game with Minnesota recruiting with all the talent in the portal from there and for 2022.
