***Official College Football Playoff Rankings***

Rece, uh, Herbie did make the implication the committee must not have watched BYU games. Herbie's been pumping BYU for a month and is taking a burn that they don't agree with him.

Interesting that with today's list, ISU has been ranked 11 out of last 19 (2017 on) listings. Iowa has been ranked 10 times in that period. ISU high is #13, Iowa high is #16. [this only shows 15-25]

Well I was going to ask where the hok trolls were. I figured they would be running around crowing about their #24 ranking. You don't really suppose they know these details do you?

Herbie is buttmuncher

Had we not lost to Louisiana I would agree we deserve to be above them. But Louisiana is a G5 team just like BYU. We lost to one why couldn’t we lose to a much better one. First game and all I get it but in my opinion BYU has looked good enough to earn a spot or two above us.

Now we beat Texas I am fine with us jumping them because that’s another top-20 win. Just my opinion though. I don’t think BYU deserves a shot at the playoff with that schedule but top10? Sure.

Sorry, you have to play someone. The only team on BYU's schedule that currently has more than 4 wins is UTSA, and only them and Boise St aren't at best a game over .500. That's not just a schedule loaded with G5 teams, it's mediocre at best G5 teams. Meanwhile, while the loss to Louisiana is a bad loss, the only loss that they have is to Coastal Carolina, a team that happens to be in this ranking.

1. I'm not going to argue much about Oklahoma being ahead of us, but as I continue to point out, if the situations were reversed and Iowa State had losses to Oklahoma and Kansas State and Oklahoma had losses to Louisiana and Kansas State, none of us would bat an Iowa with Oklahoma being ranked ahead of us.

2. I mean I'm not sure who should be ahead of Iowa, but for ****'s sake.

OSU doesn't play anyone. Their remaining schedule is Illinois, Michigan State and Michigan with a combined record of 5-9

You have your opinion and I respect it. I am taking the stance of watching them, and they have a QB who is Heisman-level talent. They are obliterating their competition. Again I am not advocating for them to be in the top-4 or even top-8. I just would personally rank them ahead of us at the moment. But they would have no wiggle room to move up. We on the other hand would have the chance to move up despite having two more losses than them. A win against top-20 Texas on the road in my opinion would vault us over them if I were doing the ranking. And if we somehow won out with a win over OU in the Big 12 title game, I would have us well in front of them.

At this point our only win worth much is OU early in the season without their full team (that RB makes them a completely different team on offense). I think they ranked us just right at 13. I just would have swapped Indiana and BYU at least.

You're talking about a playoff committee that only talks about data points mattering when it creates the matchups that they want.

Interestingly, @ChrisMWilliams just did an interview with David Bartoo about the CFP. Bartoo tried to pretend that the CFP is objective and C-Dubs just laughed and said it is stupid. I agree with Chris.

"Data points" are important. A few years ago we had a Big 12 team not make the Playoffs because it lacked the extra data point of a conference championship game. Yet, they are ranking teams that have played 3 games. What a joke!

Why do they wait until November to release these rankings? They assume that there will be enough data points. Well, that's all changed this year. Despite Bartoo's attempts to say that they are doing it just the same as last year, they aren't. They have never, ever ranked a team that has played only 3 games . . . until tonight.
