Pollard press conference today

I agree starting with family first and I think the 0% attendance included family and friends. But the students have not earned the right to attend the games. They blew it by their actions. At 25% definitely NO students. 50% is probably off the table now but even then NO students.
why should donors be prioritized over students? Donors are in the same situation all across Iowa right now.
125% of capacity. We fill the scoreboard, hills, and the rafters.
**** I would buy those tickets in a heartbeat..

So basically no fans for later in the season because there is NO WAY people are going to follow any of the rules below:

1. Parking – Fans should arrive early to avoid traffic congestion, park their vehicle, gather game gear and walk directly to the stadium for entrance. Do not gather in the parking lots to socialize.

2. No Tailgating – There will be no tailgating allowed on university-owned property, including parking lots and grass areas adjacent to parking lots. Fans may not bring nor set up items normally associated with a tailgate such as lawn chairs, coolers, grills, tents, canopies, tables, etc.

Yay for another situation where we'll trust people to do the right thing and they'll fail miserably.

Our group of 6 was waiting to see what happened before officially deferring. To defer, do we just have to call the ticket office?

Yeah, other places are moving to 25% at best, and while Ames and Iowa is one of the worst in the entire world we announce 'full steam ahead' (I imagine it is only 25000 because 5000 of the former 30000 opted out).

This is why we are where we are

A large part of my business depends on people being in the world's largest theme parks and in movie theaters.

Those places are open in a normal way in some other countries that genuinely controlled the outbreak compared to us. They aren't open in a widespread normal way here in the USA. Ignore the potential health risks for a moment, I highly question that the way we are going about things even makes sense from a purely money driven perspective. Every week I see our sales totals, other countries range from 20-70% of normal sales. US sales are below 5% of normal.

The usual suspects will again mark this reality I see every day as funny/dumb/fake news, but it's hard data I can't ignore. The #1 hotspot state in the country having a football game with 25,000 fans doesn't seem to show learning from our mistakes. New Jersey just opened indoor dining because their #s are among the best in the country right now, they didn't do that because they had the worst numbers.

With over 40% attendance hopefully they are strict with the mask policy.
If you watched that FBS game I would say 3/4 of the people had masks on but they were wearing them as a chinstrap instead of the intended purpose. That was much more spread out than JTS will be.
