MeowingCows was a regular innocent.

Also, since it was night three, Kaiba and his Blue Eyes White Dragon made their first appearance of the game and used Neutron Blast to obliterate @CRAZYGREG.

Marik would have chosen to steal a specific person's vote and decided the night before to cast that vote for KC.

So technically it doesn't mean they were protecting oldman because they would have had no idea who that person's vote they stole was going to be for.
