MLB: MLB to Start Back Up on July 1?

I'm pretty much on the who cares train for baseball, basketball, and hockey. Let them all restart when their season would start on the normal schedule.

that is crazy the players union is dragging their feet so much especially when they know what it was like when their was last a strike.

Last I checked, the rub was over a 60 or 70 game season. ********.

Not a big fan of expanding the playoffs. Would they shorten the regular season?
I don’t think baseball is happening this summer. There’s no way they can make it work at this point. Just let the teams regroup and go into fall.

Agreed. With all that is going on in the world, now is not the time to extend your playoffs even longer. Do they want to play on Thanksgiving? I think they are making this harder than it needs to be. Just pick a start date and play the games left on your original schedule. Leave the playoffs like last year. Prorate the salaries based on # of games played divided by 162.

I don't think I know what I'm talking about...just keep hearing these random plans, and I don't know if they're permanent or just for this season

God, if they could have figured this out for first pitch to be on the 4th of July it would have been amazing. But instead, the bed was ****.

IF Union agrees sounds like Spring Training starts July 1 & Season then on weekend of July 24-26:

If this turns into no baseball this year the players really are shooting themselves in the foot with the CBA due for negotiations after 2021. This mess combined with a possible work stoppage after next season and it is going to do more damage to the sport than 1994-95 strike that ended the 1994 season early and delayed the start of the 1995 season. It basically took the steroid induced 1998 season with the HR chase to begin to recover from that and I still think even today the sport's popular never quite fully recovered from that strike.

Can't imagine getting excited about this mini-season unless you're Charlie Brown. Wonder if I'll be tempted to subscribe to MLB TV again?
