Auto insurance rebates

I use a local one and haven't heard anything yet.

Not too concerned about it actually...their rates have been way better than my previous carriers and they've helped guide me through a couple of situations for logistics when my parked car got dinged.

IMT is lowering their auto base rate and not increasing planned home base rates. They are spinning it as better then a 1 time refund.

We have IMT/Wadena for home and auto and haven't seen any communications yet so this is news to me.

After careful consideration on how we could create the largest financial impact, instead of a small one-time refund, we have decided to reduce our personal auto premium base rates upon your next renewal and withdraw previously approved homeowners base rate increases across all states. Assuming all of our policies renew, this would result in an annual premium reduction of nearly $5 million for our policyholders. We are working with the Insurance Departments in all six of our writing states to approve these base rate changes as quickly as possible. Unlike a one-time refund, these rate change decisions will have a lasting and permanent effect going forward.

Spouse works for one of them and he said vehicle claims were down 40% in March. I imagine it's similar across the industry and I would expect April to be down even more.

Thankful for this, but would be curious to see the actual % saved by the companies on lower claims experience? For example, if they save 50% of their normal expenses, and give 40% "back," that's still a win for the insurer.

Edit: CowGirl kinda answered my question as I was typing it! Thanks!
