Favorite Cyclone Football Memory?

2002 to at Iowa
2005 Tornado game
2011 OSU

I forgot about the tornado game. Just a surreal day tailgating. Remember huddling around the little TV in the van while everyone else ran to Hilton :D

Then we followed that up with an awesome game.

For games I wasn't at:

1. 2017 Oklahoma
2. 2002 Iowa
3. 2009 Nebraska
4. 2000 Insight Bowl
5. 2005 Iowa

It was amazing, I was drunker than a skunk sitting on my buddies truck when the cops tried to kick us out. That wasn't happening.

I am going to have to go with the 1992 Marv Seiler game against Nebraska.

The second half was a thing of beauty watching the Husker offensive line break huddle and walk to the line of scrimmage with their heads hung low. You could see they were defeated. Then Marv broke off that long run.

That 05 Squawk game was awesome. I still remember chanting Tate’s a p*ssy in unison from the student section like it was yesterday. Still have no clue what in the hell he was doing.

The Steele Jantz game may slowly get somewhat forgotten as more and more time passes but the number of absolutely incredible plays that guy made in that game with everything on the line is something I will never forget.

Just saw a replay of that yesterday on Cyclone TV Mediacom 798. Great defensive game by us and also our option attack had them just completely befuddled with 373 yards rushing. Yes, certainly a thing of beauty. We had held the No.1 offensive team in the nation to zero points in the 2nd half.

We were 29 point underdogs to a Nebraska team that Devaney had touted as maybe the greatest Nebraska football team of all time.

The Tornado Game.

Getting so drunk after the OSU game that I went to the ER for my hangover because I thought I was having a heart attack. I was in Phoenix for some training that went 7 days, with the weekend open. My colleague and I spent nearly $150 on beer at the sports bar.

The OU win.

The win at Nebraska. We watched it at my parents house, and my kids were napping during the fourth quarter. It was the most fun, quiet celebration ever.

Watching the TD ometer numbers turn and turn and turn !!!!! Had season tickets them years. Don't think there will ever be another one like him.

91 Colorado blizzard game. ISU lost but the entire experience of getting to the game, surviving the game, etc will always make it memorable. I was 12 and we had just finished combining corn. My dad was hell bent on going no matter what since we missed games due to harvest. The journey that was that weekend is something we still talk about frequently.

92 Nebraska. The Marv Seiler game. At the time beating them was unthinkable. 13 year old me got in on the goalpost action.

2011 OSU - Senior year and somehow still have the video I took of my friends and I rushing the field

2017 TCU - Proposed that day

This may seem weird but one of my most vivid memories was a game we actually lost. Homecoming 1984, The first home night game in ISU history vs. #2 Oklahoma and televised on ESPN. I believe it was also the first game that Jack Trice Field at Cyclone Stadium was used. We tailgated ALL DAY, so I have no idea how I remember everything so well ( or maybe I don't LOL). We actually lead and controlled that whole game until less than 2 minutes to go when OU ran a double reverse. From the upper deck student section, which at that time was section O and on the 50 yard line, I could see it unfolding. We ended up losing 12-10. But that was the LOUDEST I ever remember the stadium being. We were a terrible team that year only winning 2 games...Drake and West Texas St. So I guess as a student we savored what could have been with very low expectations. After the game, Barry Switzer, the OU coach then, also said it was the loudest stadium he had ever been in.

I have enjoyed many of the recent wins others have mentioned but this game is permanently etched in my brain.

1976 Cyclones. Freshman Year.
Close the Cave Inn at 2:00 AM, buy some more beer, head for the stadium to wait in line. (Drinking age was 18 in 1976)
Rushed up the hill towards the student section to save as many seats for the fraternity.

Luther Blue kickoff return for TD against the Fuskers was electric.

Many of the professors and athletic department staff had pieces of the goal post that was torn down in their office after that season.

2000 Insight Bowl - that season didn't have wins vs ranked teams, though the CU win was pretty impressive. Capped off a great season with a good win

2002- Iowa comeback
2002- Nebraska - dominated that game. I remember after that game feeling like ISU can actually have a good FB program.
- Blythe destroys A&M
- Barnett and co. roll at Texas Tech
- Jantz goes crazy in OT game vs Iowa
- 2011 OSU of course
- 2017 OU of course
- Crushing Will Griers spirit
- Spears calls home to close the door on TCU.

one stat from this game that doesn’t get enough credit was that we won time of possession 37 min to 22. The 4th q we had a drive that was like 9 minutes long. I can’t imagine that happening today. We converted a lot of 3rd downs that day.

For me it was the 23-7 dismantling of Tator Tots top 10 Iowa team.

Not best but most vivid memories from my youth.

Was on the goal line in SW corner to see Crutchfield go over the top and come down square on his head against Colorado State.

In High School remember a skydiver bounce off the turf breaking their leg. New Mexico St I believe.
