Weather Saturday

Hell most weeks we usually have shooters or flasks being passed around in our section and the colder it gets the more beer that gets smuggled in too. Granted we are in the upper deck looking across the end zone so the ushers may not care as much but as long as you aren't obvious or stupid about it no one has ever been bothered for drinking around us.

Ha - usher in front of me took an entire 12 pack out of guys coat in front of me. Impressive work.

Often I find that the games with sketchy weather are sometimes the most fun and memorable for some reason. Going to be having as much fun soaking up all of the wet weather from a tree stand this weekend!

Weatherbug app on my phone. For Ames it shows:

11AM 36 degrees 70% rain/snow
12PM 36 degrees 40% rain/snow
1PM 36 degrees Windy 20% rain/snow
2PM 37 degrees Cloudy 10% rain/snow
2PM 38 degrees Cloudy 10% rain/snow

Then throw winds gusting 30+ on top of that.

It’s all fun and games until someone gets puked on

about 10 years ago I had my oldest, who would have been about 8-9 at the time, at the game and this older, a little thicker, lady found her seat right above us. As she moved down the seats you could tell she was totally blitzed. Get right above us and starts to lose her balance and starts to fall forward right at my kid. Would have probably crushed him as he sat there. I jammed my forearm up and pushed her back at her bf/husband who caught her. Everytime she stood up, I had to jump up and push her away from falling on my kid. Figured she would puke on us next. Bf/husband could tell I was getting very upset and finally switched spots with her so she wouldn't be over my son. She fell on the guy two down a little later.

Yes, they still sell hot chocolate. It's been a real big seller the last couple of games.
We bought a couple cups last Saturday. It wasn't particularly warm by the time I got my hands on it. Chocolate is putting it strongly -- it tasted as if they placed a cup of hot water next to a container of Hershey's Cocoa and expected the chocolate flavor to transfer via osmosis.

La Croix makes hot chocolate?

First off beware of slick roads both going to and from the game.

Assuming there is going to be next to no tailgating I won't bother with that time frame. I would count on there being light rain at least off and on the whole game and wouldn't count out a wintry mix as well. Temps are going to be just a few degrees above freezing all day with winds sustained 15-20 gusting 25+.

If this were to move north or south a little there might be more of a mix/snow or all rain but regardless it is going to be cold, wet and windy. Basically a miserable day to be outside so kudos to those of you making the trek but I am going to count going to the KU game as my 7th home game of the season.
