I am seeing a lot more projections to the Alamo since the Texas loss. I guess the prevailing line of thought is that OU beats WV and then both OU and Texas get NY6 bowls and we get the nod over WV. If it does play out like that (and I hope I does because it is Alamo or bust as far as me being able to go - and I already have booked refundable rooms in San Antonio) I really do think we get the nod over WV because of head to head and the fact that we travel so so well. I honestly do not know how well WV travels but I have to think we have them beat in the department.
I think both Alamo\Orlando would probably benefit from an ISU-Alamo, WVU- Orlando lineup anyway. A lot easier travel for both teams, so itd be a mutually beneficial arrangement.Yeah, if that situation plays out, there’s no reason we shouldn’t be ahead of West Virginia.
I don't want Houston. It would be a road game against a nearby $EC team. And a crappy destination as well.
Went to Rice’s campus one night and had a great time.Houston sucks. Confirmed. Was there for our last bowl game there.
Anecdotal.Went to Rice’s campus one night and had a great time.
So, what has to happen for us to play UCF in Orlando/ Florida? That's how we roll in bowl games.
vs TCU in Houston
vs Memphis in Memphis
vs Rutgers in NYC
vs Boise in Boise
So, what has to happen for us to play UCF in Orlando/ Florida?
So, Arizona State in the Cheez-It Bowl then?Lol I doubt that happens they will be in a NY6 with an at large I bet

For some reason, I'd rather play NC State than Syracuse. Not because I fear Syracuse. They still don't have that major conference feel to me.
Yep, need OU to beat WVU. They end the season with two losses in a row. We need to drill KState and pound IW to get ourselves firmly entrenched in the CFP rankings. Hope OU and UT both make NY6, or OU make CFP with UT making NY6. Then an invite from Alamo would be a high probability.
That would knock UCF out of a NY6 bowl. What has to happen on our side? We lose out to go 6-6. Big 12 has 8 bowl eligible teams to fill 7 slots. We get shipped to what bowl in Florida to play UCF? The lawnmower bowl?South Florida beats UCF, then UCF loses in AAC title game, Utah State wins MWC at 12-1.
JP is working on a backup plan in case IW is not available. At least according to the DMR article. In the Incarnate Wood watch thread, someone put together a list of FCS teams that did not make their playoffs and had a game canceled. So what's up with IW...are we even going to play?
